Updates are always good for any game but they did a great job with the updates for MCC and are doing a even better job with the halo 5 updates so im more than satisfied.

I had the game day 1 and experienced some of the issues but they were fixed well before i stopped playing. 343 recognized the issues and fixed them and gave us alot in return, i get that this ambitious project launched with problems but they were fixed long ago time to move on. What other game has 4 games running all at once?

Then you must not have bought the game at launch. The "support" was piss pour and I traded the game in to gamestop after matchmaking was -still- completely broken 2 months after launch. It was one of the biggest ball drops I've seen in a very long time.

Super Mario All stars pulled this off flawlessly with 4 games in 1993, the PS3 did it flawlessly with 3 games with the sly Collection.

There have been numerous compilations over the years so its not some impossible task. You can either do it or you cant, and if you cant but sell the game anyway then you are ripe for critiscism.

@FPSFox The ball drop is highlighted even more by the fact that this IS the team who is in charge of this franchise right now that screwed up. Nobody else can be blamed like with Visceral Games and the Batman Arkham Collection or the mess up that was done to the recent Bioshock "enhanced" Collection either.
It says a lot about the fate of the Halo series really when it is in this same team's hands.

The chances of more updates are slim to none... It's a shame too... While I mainly bought it for the single player, the MP would've been killer if it worked properly... The game will always have users, but not nearly as much as it should because of the horrible launch... That was even worse than Battlefield 4 in 2013...

I guess the focus was shifted to Halo 5. Plus Halo 5 creates more revenue due to the req packs. So my guess is that the Mcc support is over.
To be fair, the Halo 5 support has been great. I am beyond impressed.

I played MCC for its campaigns and couch co op and had no problem there. I was overly impressed with the collection in that department.

Halo 5 multiplayer has indeed been supported immensley. The new game modes are awesome.

Match making time depends on the game and mode selected. Halo 3 slayer matches much faster than the less popular Halo 2A and CE for example. The game isn't broken.

It was very quick to find games after a few months of updates. There probably aren't many people playing it today though, since the launch was so bad. They did give a free Halo 3 ODST to everyone affected, so that kinda made up for it.

If they really want to make it better, they should cut it down to only one playlist to unite the playerbase. And Xbox should advertise that update on the xbox home menu.

Matchmaking has been fixed, dont let these people lie to you. It launched with problems but 343 took care of it and gave back, cant believe that people are still holding on to the past. What they did with this collection has never been done before so yea some problems for some not all happened but at the end of the day they were fixed so ........yea

The digital version is like 7 bucks on cdkeys if anyone is interested.

I rarely have that much trouble with, as people claim, but I'm sure it's really bad for some people of they wouldn't be complaining.

They need to keep it as it is at the very least, as long as they don't shut down servers or anything. Regardless of the launch issues, it was still the best gift to a halo fan.

Just to clarify folks I still want them making Halo except allow them to at least have another intellectual property that they could create , I don't really think anybody would be objecting them just going back and forth between 2 intellectual properties.

343i has the staff to work on two projects, which they sort of already do. However, it seems one team works on mainline Halo games, while the other works on remasters, side games (like Spartan Assault) and assists on larger projects (Hence Halo Wars 2). The second 343i team should be given creative freedom, and allowed to work on new IPs (or bring back old ones like Perfect Dark). 343i with Rare would be great for Perfect Dark, a franchise that was discussed several times by Phil Spencer and Kevin Lobb.

Well...the studio is called 343, which is a Halo reference. Additionally Microsoft created the studio strictly to make Halo games. There are other in house studios individual developers can transfer to if they get fedup with creating Halo games.

I don't disagree with you and the reference was not lost on me simply that something is definitely wrong with even having a studio permanently devoted to one intellectual property especially a property that is not a static IP like a sports game or racing game or fighting game etc

So yes they could just transfer those developers to another team if they get tired of creating Halo games but transfer them to where? A team to just start making more gears? Or Forza? What internal teams by Microsoft actually create new intellectual properties every generation with the exception of Rare?

So even if your solution is for them to Simply leave 343 for another Microsoft team what happens when that solution turned into leaving Microsoft in general?

So my personal opinion is simply to let 343 as an entire team make a new intellectual property and simply go back to Halo for half of the generation.

If we could get 4 Halos last generation, I'm pretty positive we could just get 2 and then get another intellectual property along with its sequel.

Because technically speaking it simply means that Xbox One and PC owners get Halo along with something new.
In my personal opinion all of 343 cannot be left to be fatigued with creating Halo for life and I don't believe the solution is fragmenting the team or having staff basically leave because trust me they're going to bring their talents elsewhere they're not going to stay with this company if they have a new idea and that's the last thing Microsoft wants because I don't believe Bungie is going to be the last...

What happens when the idea for a game that they would have made under Microsoft they simply make under someone else?

Consider if Sony just denied all their developers from creating new intellectual properties something like the last of us could have been a Ubisoft game or Horizon zero Dawn could have very well been an Electronic Arts game.

Trust me, it happens more than most people know. Consider something like Titanfall could have very well been the next Call of Duty if Activision simply paid their Developers and allowed them to make a new intellectual property Activision could have basically had Call of Duty and Titanfall but they chose to be greedy and they lost out.

I'm simply saying situations like Destiny do not need to continue to happen...

Agreed Microsoft is basically running this damn intellectual property into the ground they need to give it a rest at least make it an intellectual property we only see once during a generation and allow 343 to create something new in the time being.

The reality is none of us know if a new intellectual property would beat Halo but at the end of the day if Uncharted can out sell Halo I believe 343 or any other team very much could create something that outsells Halo, Microsoft lacks the confidence in their teams to produce such a thing but I fully believe it is within the realm of possibility that Microsoft Studios could have already created a title better than Halo that would have out sold it if they had given them the damn chance.

Who knows how huge Destiny could have been from Microsoft as an exclusive if they just let Bungie actually create their game.

New intellectual properties come out all the time that actually out sell Halo which goes to show you that the only reason that you're not seeing any of Microsoft intellectual properties out sell Halo is because they're not making any new ones in the first place....

It's basically all Halo and Gears of War at Microsoft all the time like clockwork and it's very clear that the low sales of both of those franchises are showing their fatigue.

Microsoft should have invested in a new intellectual property with both of those teams this generation and at least went back to Gears of War and Halo once in a while.

Halo 5 Sold 5 Million Copys in 3 Months
Uncharted 4 Sold 8.7 Million Copys in 9 Months

Lets just pretend Halo sold 0 copies the last 12 months and do some math
PS4 has double the install base, so Uncharted should have had 10 Million by month 3 and not 8.7 after 9. BUT Halo 5 probably sold really good the last 12 months due to Updates/Bundles and are around 8-10 Million aswell. Which would mean that Uncharted should sell 16 Million by the time Halo did 8 (6 months to go).

Looks like you should inform yourself before you brag about one game selling more and the other getting milked.

Maybe this will crush your dreams, but last july they announced 16.5 Million unique Players played the Forge Mode in Halo 5. Not everyone played this mode. Lets pretend that Halo 5 had 20 Million unique Players with half of them coming from the free weekend. Plus we add another 6 months of sales for it. Its save to say it outsold Uncharted 4. BTW this was before Forge was on Win10.

Like I said that isn't even to say don't make Halo I understand it's an extremely strong franchise for them, merely that I don't believe Microsoft main teams just enjoy always making the same things as if it's some sort of death sentence.

They need to space out those franchises Inlet their main teams grow at least a little bit because this not only benefits Microsoft it benefits their development teams it also benefits consumers there is no reason why anybody should even be questioning letting their teams make something different.

I'm pretty positive Horizon zero Dawn isn't a death sentence to KillZone , Guerilla Games could probably always go back to that intellectual property or they could get another Sony team to continue the franchise in the same respect The Last of Us wasn't a death sentence to Uncharted seeing how we got Uncharted 4.

Like I said I'm not really saying for them to stop making it simply to allow those development teams to make new intellectual properties because I'm extremely doubtful that those teams have zero ideas and never want to create anything new.

Halo CE is still a blast to play. You can get the pc version for fairly cheap and it will run on almost any toaster.

Multiplayer has worked well for a very long time. Campaign always crash, don't know how some people are so fortunate in that department. All I ask is they add a community playlist (like Halo Reach had) so we can play fresh maps and gametypes that were actually designed by the community with the Forge.

I remember buying an xbox one for this title because the only Halo game I played was 3, it def put me off to the entire series, probably the worst release and follow up in the history of video games for a AAA type title(and yes I had Battlefield 4 at launch)
