RE 7 will be also the lamest game in the series ....bearing the name Resident Evil just for show

DashArrivals2701d ago

What you're saying goes against what the majority are saying and have experienced in the demos. I'm not sure where you're coming from. When someone like you pops up from nowhere and says these things passionately, I honestly do not know what to think. Everyone I know is saying htey are really looking forward to it. I am too :-)

Fishy Fingers2701d ago

Perhaps he should go back and play RE5/6 and return to his comment.

Most interesting RE game since 4 and the feedback from hands on and home demos has been hugely positive.

I swear some just think it's cool to whine.

NukaCola2701d ago

No one is ever happy. RE7 looks incredible.

LamerTamer2701d ago

He is salty because it isn't fixed camera and tank controls.

I say good riddance to the old clunky gameplay.

G20WLY2701d ago

Totally agree Dash. To me it make no difference how similar or otherwise it is to the previous games. A great game is a great game - and that extended demo was great in my opinion.

If people must draw parallels though, consider that one of the standout aspects of the first game (surprising as it may seem looking back) was that it was SCARY! Anyone who went straight into the extended RE7 demo in VR knows it's achieved that much!

Yui_Suzumiya2701d ago

Ignore him.. he's had an unmitigated hate boner towards this game since it was announced, lol

Seems to finally be a RE game in the spirit of the earlier ones and not RE:CoD

Somebody needs a nap...

leahcim2701d ago

Sadly I agree with you. I don´t know why but I have a bad hunch. Don´t get me wrong the demos were amazing--

nunley332701d ago

I agree with Naruga,it seems to have little in common with previous RE games and this didn't start out as a RE game. Its launching soon and I have little interest in playing that mess. I predict the RE2 remake will outsell it.

CorndogBurglar2701d ago

If you think it has little in common with Resident Evil games then you need to do some more research.

Literally the ONLY thing that doesn't scream Resident Evil is the First Person perspective.

Scatpants2701d ago

That's weird, the demo was great. I guess the rest will somehow suck.

trooper_2701d ago (Edited 2701d ago )

Capcom may have made some questionable mistakes but I'm not writing this game off. They deserve a chance at least.

_-EDMIX-_2701d ago

Lol I love how you've basically made of small career out of hating Resident Evil 7.

Max-Zorin2701d ago

Must be one of those annoying old-school gamers, that is extremely bitter about lack of outdated tank controls, and that terrible fixed camera.

whitesoxfalife19762701d ago

hahaha @naruga you getn bodied in here. But seriously you must not be serious fan of resident evil to make comment like that.

Fear is much better than action when it comes to a Resident Evil game.

CrimsonWing692701d ago

Sure would like to know more about this game that'll be released soon...

CorndogBurglar2701d ago (Edited 2701d ago )

Really?

Is the demo thats been updated a couple times not enough?

Well then here, let me give you a list of things that can easily be found online that will be in the game:

Its first person

There will be herbs to heal

There will be save rooms

There will be some kind of mutated creatures to fight

There are lots of weapons but very little ammo

Umbrella has something to do with the story

Wesker is strongly rumored to be in it

It takes place in a mansion with claustrophobic, creepy environments

You play a new character that wakes up in the mansion without knowing where he is

It takes place after RE6

It has been confirmed to have new zombie-like enemies

You know....pretty much everything that is in traditional Resident Evil games, except in first person. So what else are you looking for? The actual story with spoilers?

CrimsonWing692701d ago (Edited 2701d ago )

How about a bit more of the story, maybe show off more combat, let's maybe see something a little more than what's been shown? I don't base how a whole game is simply off of a demo.

That's like if they showed barely anything of Zelda and gave you a demo with no actual story implications and you told me hey it's:

third person

there's a fairy fountain

Probably going to be some bombs you can throw and heart pieces you collect

There's going to be an assortment of weapons that have specific functions

Bad pig looking guys are going to be in it

It's strongly rumored that Ganon will be in it

Takes place out in a kingdom with a variety of environments

You play a link that wakes up with a fairy

It may or may not take place after the previous Zelda game

Has been confirmed that there are new bosses

You know... pretty much everything that's in a traditional Zelda game. So what else are you looking for? The actual story with spoilers?

I mean the fact that you barely told me anything other than the what captain obvious knows shows how little is actually known about the game. There were far more previews, in-depth articles, trailers, etc for RE5 and RE6 that actually gave me a good chunk of info to go by.

But thanks for the response... I think... maybe, sure... I don't know.

_-EDMIX-_2701d ago

I was about to say the same thing corndog stated I'm not really sure how much you seriously need to know about this game.

In regards to the combat in the demo you could shoot a gun and you could waive an Axe and it gives you a very strong understanding of how the Mechanics Work.

You fight a boss and you're able to solve a puzzle.

Why would they spoil the story? There's actually more than enough that is provided about the story to get an informed decision any more information and you're not even asking for enough information to purchase it actually sounds like you just want to know the entire thing and I'm not sure how much you'll be able to enjoy if you're just reading the entire plot line spoilers and all lol

Before the demo mind you I knew more than enough to make an informed purchase of Resident Evil 7.

The director of the game stated it was going to have limited ammo, limited Weaponry, limited health ,they also stated a return to more puzzles, they also stated the Weaponry that would be in the game and they also stated item boxes would be making a return that was actually more than enough for me to make the call and purchase.

How much of the story of the previous Resident Evils did you ever even know? If you look back at the trailers almost all Resident Evils they actually don't tell you a significant amount of how the game is going to end or any specific plot points.

I'm sorry but I just don't know how much more he would seriously need to know other than that he's looking for his girlfriend and was captured by some insane family and he's trying to escape.

Why would they spoil the game by telling you the why where and how?

Sorry bud, I would actually say they've been the most transparent about this game than any other Resident Evil in history.

You've never got this much time to hear about a Resident Evil game before its release and you've never gotten this much time with multiple demos of a Resident Evil game before release there is no reason to seriously be this confused about what Resident Evil 7 is other than wanting to know more than it even justifies to tell.

If anything wait till the game comes out and Read the entire storyline and read all the features it's up to you , you actually don't need to buy this game day 1 bud.

I question why it even matters to you this much. If you want to know everything about the game and you don't want to make a purchase right now the solution is it very obvious.

Wait, YouTube, wiki etc. I see no reason for them to essentially spoil the entire game

CrimsonWing692701d ago (Edited 2701d ago )

Um... have you seen how most games get covered? Like here's an example I guess look at how much was shown on Horizon Zero Dawn or even Final Fantasy 15 (without story spoilers). Now look at everything we've seen on RE7 2 similar trailers and a demo. Now compare that to how past Resident Evil games were given details out on... kind of a stark difference.

And holy smokes what the eff are you talking about this being the most "transparent" they've been with an RE game? The demo for 4, 5, and 6 were more informative on characters and the narrative. Not to mention the whole slew of story/gameplay trailers for 5 & 6 and the E3 stage demos.

I think definitely in comparison this is the one RE game we know little to nothing about outside of the demo and some pieces here and there and to top it off it was unveiled at E3 2016 and comes out this month... what other RE game did they give this little of info on in such a short amount of time between its release?

Pennywise1382700d ago

Yeah I think there's plenty of info on this game and I am glad they haven't given hardly any story spoilers. Besides the first person thing everything else looks like an old school survival horror resident evil to me. Almost every early impression I've read has said it's more like the original than any other RE game. I'm glad nothing has been spoiled as far as how the story will transition from the 3rd person call of duty style action of 5 and 6 back into a more claustrophobic slow burning horror game.

_-EDMIX-_2700d ago (Edited 2700d ago )

@crim- that's nice.

who's putting the gun to your head and forcing you to purchase it day one?

If you feel there's not enough information for you personally to make that decision wait until it's released and watch all the YouTube videos and read all the Wikipedia pages about the game no one stopping you.

I'm not entirely sure what you're even arguing about are you going to die if they don't tell you about this game enough before it's released? What's going to happen to you if this game releases? All you have to do is wait until after release is to make that decision if you feel this isn't enough.

You actually know the setting of this game
you know the character
you know physically what you can and can't do..

For all you know the narrative spoils what the game actually is.

If that's not enough for you then that has everything to do with yourself personally but has nothing to do with how capcom's marketing the game you're basically complaining and crying about the company not outright spoiling the game and basically doing an entire walkthrough of the entire game for you.

Is there a reason why you can't watch an entire walkthrough of Resident Evil 7 after its release if that's what you want?

I don't beg companies in cry like a child to release more information about their game if I don't feel confident about purchasing it I simply don't purchase it day one and wait to read up more information on specific parts that are important for me.

I suggest you do the same because I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to successfully do here lol

Do you want some sort of reward for your observation? Would you suddenly die if this releases and you don't know 100% of what it is? I don't understand? What time limit are you under? Lol

Technically speaking to any degree you actually could say this about every game that ever releases in the history of Gaming.

Yes, no game is telling you 100% of the actual story and also telling you 100% of every last thing you do because at some point you have to question what is there left for you to even experience if you're basically begging for the whole thing before release? If you want the game spoiled for you feel free to watch it on YouTube after release

I don't know what the rush is bud.

FallenAngel19842701d ago

This'll be the first time in a mainline RE game where the protagonist doesn't have any special training of any sort that could potentially help him deal with the threats that await.

I expect the difficulty to represent that

andrewsquall2701d ago

Yep, Claire Redfield sure was a special-ops/cop/miltary individual and not a random civilian at all in her debut game, the second one in the series about 20 years ago.
"First time" lol.

AntiZeal0t2701d ago

Didn't Chris train her in combat and weapon use? I thought that was introduced somehow.

Coreymac72701d ago

You don't become the master of unlocking overnight.

Kyosuke_Sanada2701d ago

Character special training never really gave you any advantages in gameplay until Resident Evil 3 Nemesis and even then the super difficult dodge didn't turn the tides like the "almighty" melee attacks of 4,5 and 6.

FallenAngel19842700d ago

@ Andrew

Although Claire appeared to be far more of a normal civilian than Jill, Chris & Leon it was established in Darkside Chronicles that Claire did in fact have some form of basic training from Chris prior to the events of RE2. Ethan on the other hand has no such training as it appears from previews. So yeah it is the first time.

@ Kyosuke

I know it didn't always help gameplay wise but it is nice to see someone without any training whatsoever react to the situation

The Greatest Video Game Comeback Stories in Gaming History

Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein118d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff2183118d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.
