Slash Gear's Eric Abent writes: "With the Nintendo Switch on the horizon, many people will tell you that the console needs a strong launch library out of the gate if it wants to succeed. They’re right, of course, but I also think there’s a segment that could have a great effect on whether the Switch sinks or swims: retro games. Nintendo’s Virtual Console has been around since the Wii, and the Switch will almost certainly have a Virtual Console of its own. While perfecting the Virtual Console may not be as important as a deep and varied games catalog, it still needs to be a key area of focus if the Switch wants to succeed. "
Chinese gaming peripheral maker Mobapad has outed Nintendo Switch 2 info "through our partnership with Nintendo's supply chain."
Interesting I like what I've read so far.
Full backwards compatibility with games carts and digital, comparability with pro controller and joy cons (they can't be docked though)
So basically my investments in switch one games and hardware seems to be respected
I'm really banking on it being backwards compatible. I really hope it is and it sounds like it will be.

Steam is changing its refund policy, but you probably won’t be affected
Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.
Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.
Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?
That is just silly a new console needs old games to be successful.a new console needs new games that are awesome and new.
Funny. I clicked on the article thinking it's about Retro Games on the Switch. But it's about retro games on the Switch.
Honestly, if Retro Games made a new Metroid Prime for the Switch, it'd buy it without hesitation.
lol jk
To make Switch a success . it got to reboot snes titles to draw in ALL gamers.
After digesting this opinion piece, I can say Virtual Console is a selling point to core Nintendo fans, and a buzz has stemmed from the rumoured inclusion of Gamecube titles, but from that core audience. I personally cannot wait for this, but know it's marketability in becoming serious competition for Sony & Microsoft revolves around bringing fresh new releases to the system along with a solid third party support.
