New video shows 6 minutes of gameplay footage from Free Radical's cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3

YouTube’s ‘FuZaH’ has shared a new video, showcasing 6 minutes of new gameplay footage from Free Radical’s cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 game. This is a follow up to last week’s video that showcased the game’s alpha build.

Yep it is such a downgrade compared to the older titles. The fun factor just isn't there.

If the new Battlefront wasn't so much like Battlefield I would have bought it by now. There was no way I would put down $60 on it and by the time it dropped low enough we'd heard about Battlefield One, which I found far more intriguing. They really should just hand Battlefront off to Respawn, far better fit for the series IMO and it keeps it from being a reskinned Battlefield.

How sad... I don't even really understand why EA chose to ditch some of the more BASIC elements of Battlefront (and modern shooters) that are on display here, i.e. dropped enemy weapon pick-ups, using the inferior vehicular combat system found in BF 2016 instead of matching what was used in previous games or even their OWN franchises like Battlefield 1 for Pete's sake!

It looks good, plays fairly smooth, sounds great, but that's it. A bare-bones product-release to coincide with the movie release schedule I'm sure.

And I cringe to mention the LOSS of the oh-so-smooth surface-to-air-to-space transition element...

Took the words out of my mouth, bf 2016 is strictly bare, it obviously using the frostbite engine so if anything they couldve taken more of bf3 elements and make it feel like a war amd not some arcade game. As huge sw fan i just felt cheated out, for f$&@ sakes they didnt even bother putting in different style reticles, no iron sight nothing! This game was purely an unfinished product idc what anyone says you tell me its made right you are delusional

I know I won't be buying SWBF2 unless there are MAJOR upgrades (really should be called "BASICS!!!" rather than upgrades, but if they made it an ACTUAL Battlefront game I'd be more than happy).

I was one of the Star Wars fanboys who got EA Battlefront, initially loved the nostalgic feel but after 10 hours it wore off and I saw what a shoddy and casualised game it truly was, and the deluxe edition purchasers getting the best gun in the game - the Han Solo pistol - was the straw that broke the camels back. I sold the game getting most of my money back disappointed at the game, but then reading online on how people were comparing it to Battlefront 2 on the PS2 I decided to download the ISO and stick the game on PCSX2, and my God the difference in content, attention to detail and gameplay is so far superior to EA Battlefront I was shocked at the decision to exclude such content from appearing in the newer game.

Battlefront 2016 is an amazing game but the old ones...... not so much. Back in the day they were amazing.

The old Star Wars battlefront games are by far where they stayed true and original now you have all these horrible copycat games just because you have people that play games that are so linear minded that they are gonna ruin video games for the rest of us. I very much dislike this new Star Wars bullshit but hey they don't care as they tear fans and gamers games apart.

But hey if you have Xbox one and because of BC we may get the older star wars battlefront and relive those days when games were good.

I might be the only one, but l personally think Titanfall 2 felt more like a Star Wars game than Battlefront. I'd love to see a reskinned Titanfall game that was a Star Wars game, but sadly EA has the license and can't make good games. If EA was smart and l don't think they will be, but if they were they'd let Respawn make a Star Wars game.

Exactly! The Titanfall gameplay (without the titans) is a far better fit for the Battlefront series than the Battlefield gameplay. Heck, maybe they can pair them with DICE staff to keep the game on Frostbite, but have Respawn handle the gameplay. It would also keep EA from releasing so many redundant first person shooters.

Free Radical. Wow. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. It's such a shame what happened to that studio, they were one of the best teams out there. I miss Time Splitters. There hasn't been a multiplayer shooter released since that's brought my friends and I more joy and laughter.
