We might all have to come to terms with free-to-play, IAP model, one that proves successful, and inevitably leads to more mobile Nintendo games, more often.
Princess Peach. Beloved royalty of the Mushroom Kingdom, and the constant damsel in distress that sets the tone for most Super Mario games. However, there is a darkness in this one, and she is not all smiles, pink hearts, and expensive parasols. No, no. She is not quite what she seems.
Many immediately found the negativity of Nintendo's approach to mobile gaming, but The Never Yak thinks that the move is actually a positive one for both Nintendo and gaming in general.
I really liked Mario Run's model. Pay once, unlock everything.
Unfortunately, people prefer to be whales, so Nintendo saw real money lies in microtransactions and gacha mechanics. So now I feel less and less excited for each new mobile game they announce.
Nintendo was too protective of the Mario brand to top mobile revenue charts with Super Mario Run, so it's trying to change that with Dr. Mario World and Mario Kart Tour. But is it working?
People are ridiculous. This is why mobile games and micro transactions are terrible for video games. $10 for a game is CHEAP. People need to realize that games cost money to make. I prefer Nintendo doing the $10 and saying "hey, our game is good, so good that we think it's worth $10" and IT IS.
Not everything should be free...
I enjoy it. It gets harder to collect every special coin (3 tiers per level) but just to beat a level is no harder than most Mario games.
It's a good game for short periods like any Runner title but also better than others imo. It's worth $10 to me anyways but cheaper would had been better. A real MARIO side scroller would had been best though.
Holy crap is this game boring. That's the golden rule that was broken. I played it for about 5 minutes.
Why can't Nintendo just start porting over some classic titles? They would make a whopping.
There is a reason mobile and console/PC games are separate. Combine them in one echo system..............quality will drop.
We can blame lazy cheap parents for the rise in mobile gaming. Instead of going out and buying there kid a console or PC they throw there smartphone in there kids lap to shut them up and it's working.
Not me. My five year old has a Wii U, PS Vita, Xbox 360, and a PS4. Me, I just have an X1 and a PS4 Pro.
Quality of games will drop when kys one echo system. While I'm at it, Phil Spencer can take a flying leap for trying to do so. Even though I've loved his work up to that point.
Keep mobile seprate, console/PC seprate, and most of all, VR seprate.
