“@BestXboxGamerEU January looks pretty good for BC.”

FallenAngel19842700d ago

Every month is a great month for backwards compatibility. Such a great feature to have

I hope COD black ops 2 is added to the list.

Number_92699d ago

Battlefield Bad Company 2 or bust.

KillBill2698d ago

That is one game I would simply like a remaster instead. Have been playing it lately with my son on X360 and love it still. But the lack of modern control scheme is frustrating. Some of the older controls really do make it hard to enjoy aspects of it. Especially the driving and using the left trigger and bumpers for speed. Just feels unnatural when I am so used to now having the right trigger as speed and left trigger as reverse.

Number_92698d ago

I'm 98% sure BC2 on Xbox 360 uses right trigger for accelerate and left for brake and reverse.

KillBill2698d ago (Edited 2698d ago )

@Number_9 - Possible. We are playing both BC 1 and BC 2 so recollection could have been on BC 1?

edit: yep, did a check it was BFBC 1 that had the poor control layout.

They've already done my 2 fav games of the 360, red dead and lost odyssey, but I'm still curious to see what they will come up with next.

Christopher2699d ago (Edited 2699d ago )

RDR, Lost Odyssey, ME 1-3, BioShock games even though there's a remaster collection out...

This is one area where MS is really showing what it means to give to the players. Whoever is in charge of it should be held on high as an example of everything right with the industry. The developers who put time to emulate the games digitally should be given healthy bonuses and offered a seat at the table of those who put their consumers before themselves. Yes, it's business, but this is the business we deserve and want.

_-EDMIX-_2699d ago

Agreed.

There definitely should be a more secure way of preserving digital games for the future. I'm hoping that we have a more solid architecture in the future that allows for all Platforms in the future to properly emulate Hardware from previous generations hopefully the next wave of systems has an architecture that at least matches this current generation.

huh..... well this could get interesting.

I predicted it would be Hermen Hulst as the new CEO, I never predicted there would be another…

Hulst will likely Host the PlayStation press event and hopefully there will be a positive energy at this new beginning for the division. I’m encouraged that both he and Hideaki Nishino reference the future so it sounds like Sony has a plan.

I'm a bit skeptical. The new guy is unknown. Of all the leaders in the past 18 years Sony has had great leaders at the helm Carrying on the legacy of what made PS great. Sony's has a newer vision and focus for PS this time around. We'll see what happens.

As I said before two leads can be a good thing wherever they want to take PS they'll have a single joint focus and take PS to new heights (if said focus is gamer first) or bad if they have two different visions. Then you'll end up like the circus clowns over at MS.

The plan: everything on Steam day 1

Cacabunga2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Oh God no!! We have seen nothing since Hulst took over WW Studios. As a gamer ands PS fan I’m worried about what would happen

-Foxtrot1h ago

Well hopefully they have a plan because Herman hasn’t really done much since he got promoted last time

Remakes and remasters mainly

This is a really nice selection to me because Hulst is an actual game developer and has been doing so for decades. A developer in charge of making games. Not bad.

Plus the separation of responsibility is interesting and a nice way of handling an incredibly complex role.

PS studios has zero output under Hulst.

Only remasters and PC ports

Dude even managed to kill Naughty Dog

mkis0071h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Obscure

By that same logic you can say the same about phil...and hes had longer to accomplish something at xbox.

Joint venture could be very tricky. They need to be on the exact same page on things. It's two guys calling shots.

We know Herman, but we dont know the other guy or his motives/agendas. Obviously it's to make money but how he'll go about it we'll see soon enough.

JackBNimble5h ago

That's why they would need 3 , so when they disagree they can vote . 1 on 1 could be asking for trouble, but at least sony isn't letting 1 guy take playstation in "his own direction ".

All studios can make Horizon games now!

Interesting. 2 CEOs sharing the workload.

darthv728h ago

Two men enter (Hulst/Nishino)
One man leaves (Ryan)

Barlos2h ago

The Thunderdome reference wasn't lost on me 😎

mudakoshaka1h ago

@Barlos Had no idea that was from Thunderdome. I remember a similar line from Con Air when Steve Buscemi says it to Nic Cage after fighting the other guy in the cargo hold. Con Air must have taken it from Thunderdome.

romulus238h ago

Hulst will be CEO of the studios business group, and Nishino CEO of Platforms.

Relientk778h ago

Good luck to them and I hope they do great jobs. Let's see the games. Really hoping that rumored PlayStation Showcase is coming up soon.

Square should ask Sony for more money...

Outside_ofthe_Box7h ago

Square should ask Microsoft to buy them out...

FinalFantasyFanatic5h ago

@Outside_ofthe_Box,
So that Microsoft can close down the studio after doing nothing with them? Right...

gleepot12h ago

Sad but true. It's the consequence of a shift in player habits, massive overhead, and out of control budgets across the industry.

blackblades13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

What did NA and EU did anyways? Just translate or something? I would say it might help them get back to there roots but DK.

Hofstaderman13h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Actually, you are correct they play a hand in localization especially in Europe with the many languages. That and marketing.
