PS4 Youtube App now supports PlayStation VR

The official YouTube App for the PlayStation 4 just received an update – and guess what? You can now enjoy all 360° VR videos available on YouTube with your PSVR!

When checking the release notes for the new version 1.09, it simply says: “Adds PlayStation VR support”.

Awesome. I've been converting videos with software but it only extracted videos at 720 from YouTube. Then, when they were seen in the headset, it got worse. Had to go online to grab some that were free or in higher resolution. But YouTube has more videos.

Being able to watch them directly will be awesome.

Use this my friend, 4K Video Downloader, that you can grab the latest version of here https://www.4kdownload.com/...

It lets you grab videos from Youtube and even lots of other unadvertised video streaming sources by simply putting the link of the video into it. If there are 3D or 4K versions of the video it gives you the choice of those ones too.

I don't know about that, but i tried downloading a couple 4K videos from youtube and feeding them to my PS4 Pro, and it didn't read them. I wonder why. Maybe it's because they were 4K/60fps, but then again I'm almost sure at least one of them wasn't and it couldn't be read either. Now I'm gonna try to download 4K movies and run them on the Pro from my external hard drive, but I'm not holding my breath. How are we supposed to watch 4K content besides games if we can't read 4K vids grabbed from the internet???

Take so long? Are you kidding me? Mate the xbox one youtube app still doesn't have 60fps support!!!!! Its a bloody joke, I love both my PS4 and x1.

I use my x1 allot more for media and the YouTube app is pathetic, Google is taking the piss! I can't believe after all this time and I still can't watch videos at 60fps on my x1 and it's unacceptable.

Atleast the ps4 version gets support regularly, shame they don't show some love to xbox games :(

Okay, so it looks like there are a select number of people that have the version 2.09 update. I am still at 1.08. I did check for an update but it says I have the latest update. Oh well. I hope it works well. Please update the headline to reflect that bit of info. Thanks.
