That's a hell of an estimate! But I think it might even take a bit longer still, unless more devices like Gear VR come out to help get decent VR into public hands. And, err, yeah, I hope the Switch is good too,

Imp0ssibl32707d ago

I am also hopeful for the Switch, but VR? I think it will fail, at least for now. I do have stronger expectations for AR though, HoloLens could be amazing for games.

mcstorm2706d ago

I am with you I think AR is a better bet but not for Gaming imo. I still don't see people wanting to play games with headsets on or jumping around the room.

LavaLampGoo2706d ago

I'm becoming more and more worried that the VR craze will go the same way as the Kinect. I'm not seeing the developer pick up I would expect to have it become standardised...

Pantz2706d ago

more people just need to try vr porn and they'll be hooked

ccgr2706d ago

If VR comes down in price I think it will do better

Alexious2706d ago

I don't think it's primarily a price issue. It's that it's not comfortable enough and overall just not good enough.

DEEBO2706d ago

VR is better then 2d/flat screen gaming, they have to work on a couple of things but you are actually in the game.

It's the next step, graphics will always improve but standing next to nightwing is just another level.
They just have to make longer games.
RE7 is going to help.

Festano2706d ago

The problem is that they can't make longer games, or rather no one would play them since you have to stop after half an hour to avoid getting sick. That's true for too many people to be a non-issue.

Derceto2706d ago

Tell that to the millions of people who throw up due to motion sickness. Do people consider nothing anymore but their own situation?

KaiPow2706d ago

Samsung and Google could really use some killer apps for Gear/Daydream if they wanna boost those overall VR numbers.

That's hilarious because he did and said the same thing with 2K Marin who developed Bioshock 2

They've been closed since 2013 but not officially acknowledged

He just doesn't want the backlash so pretends there's no issue.
