The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Announced PS4 Exclusive; First Screenshots Released

Today Nihon Falcom announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III (Eiyuu Densetsu: Sen no Kiseki III) is in development, and will be released in Japan in the fall of 2017. On top of that, it will be the first game of the series to be PS4 exclusive.

Another day, another JRPG e e eee! Wait number 3 of the series? I'm currently playing number 2 at 170 hours I got to the end, and the ending song, and a splash screen! After beating the final bosses, and a surprise boss.....TWICE....then the ending splash screen, and a awesome ending song. I can't get out of my head......

But 13 hours later I am still playing becaose after the final save there was more game that continued where it left off. I will pre pay one on the PS4 this one is on the PS3. Anyone missing this series, and complaining about waiting on more JRPG's is missing IT! Yeah you may have to play 25 hours to get to the good part of the first game. It is worth it! The music is epic, and melo dramatic I'm talking Yuki Kajiura/Nobuo Uematsu kinda stuff!

Play number one first if you want to follow everything that one is awesome too after about 20-25 hours of character story development.

EDIT FOUR DAYS LATER. Okay 1 hour ago I just beat TRAILS of cold steel II....FOR-REAL this time.
I will have to wait a few months before I say if this is better than, or second to FFVII my favorite game of anytime of all time. I'm caught up in the moment too much. It is that good. Play time 194 hours(not including dying and returning to title screen). advice, at the end of this game sell what ever you have (exchange every drop of septh) and buy the Phantasmal Mirrors, it will blow your mind what your getting for fighting the boss.

Lol what? Played both games and there was no reference to the "Grey Knight" in the Xseed localisatrion. Maybe you mean Ashen Chevalier or Kinght.

Trails in the sky SC (psp/vita/pc)
Trails in the sky the 3rd (pc) -coming out 2017 as a late localization
Zero no kiseki -japan only
Ao no kiseki -japan only
Cold steel games 1, 2, and 3

The world of the trails games is pretty huge and theres still much more stories to tell so the series should last much longer. All games being in the zemurian continent, there are around 9 or even more states/countries within it. I believe less than half only have been shown. Of course there most likely are other continents too so much more places if falcom ever decides to go even further with the games. So theres alot of lore and such. All games are connected so it would be good to play the other games, and hopefully ao and zero get localized.

I've heard so many good things about the previous games but i've never tried them. Too many games to finish... ^^''' are they good like people describe them? Because in that case, as soon as i have more time (and finished games) i could think about getting the PS3 ones.

They're good games they just have a slow burn at the first 15-20 hours then the story ramps up more and more. As for the battle mechanics they're fun and turn based with lots of tweaks to the formula to keep it interesting.

I hate that term but that is the best way to describe it because they are basically spending extra time giving you background information on the charactors because each one of them will be fully developed. And you will care about them.

Okay I have a 2000 dollar gaming pc. Xbox one, PS4 pro. So I care about graphics. But this game is WORTH the graphical downgrade. This game is that good!

Possible. Falcom has been interested in the ps4 recently and a few of their games have been ported/remastered to other platforms.

Since they are both from this year and last in the US of A then I would say if they do, they will probably be a two for one (I could care less since I played them, other then wanting to have others play it).

As much as I'm enjoying the first one (116hours so far), I'm sure as hell not playing this low budget jrpg franchise on a Ps4. Too much good stuff coming out for PS4 anyways. Playing the sequel on PSVITA and that'll be it.

It was not low budget, the reason for the graphics is it was made for a small vita screen. The Music in the second one is the best since FFVII easily. I can see why you are upset Vita owners are the ones that supported them to this point. By they way I remember where you are, if you finish the game hopefully the anger will let you get the second one. If you finish the second one, you will be so addicted they can put it on the now dead Wii (not wii u not SWITCH, but wii, and you will be so addicted that you will buy it, and a wii!).
