Resident Evil 7 Will Offer Arsenal of Weapons But There Is A Catch

Capcom have already confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil 7 will in fact have combat, thereby dispelling one of the biggest fears that a lot of fans of the series had about the title. Given its first person perspective, and the emphasis that the demos and showings of the game have viewed on exploration, there was a general worry that Capcom would downplay combat, long a series staple, entirely.

But what the hell is Gamingbolt on about this time? Fans were worried they'd downplay combat - WTF? Did Gamingbolt miss the update to the demo that they made ready for the VR patch where you get a gun and get to take on some infected monster/freak? There's three lots of ammo (that I found, anyway) hidden in the house (the old part and the new part), which suggests combat will be as much a part as it's ever been, i.e. this not a spray and pray, unlimited bullets deal, but one where you manage your resources including bullets picking shots carefully.

Day one if puzzles from early episodes are there as well. Don't know about the 1st person however...

I really enjoyed the demo. I was skeptical, with first hearing about how it was going to be in first person. But after playing it, I was pleasantly surprised by how immersive the demo was. I really want to buy the game now :)

If you get a chance to play the patched demo, with new parts and have VR, do it - it's on another level! Just change the turning to 'smooth' and increase turning and walking speed by a notch or two and it's a game changer for me. Definitely on my most wanted list now!

Really impressed actually. It makes a really big difference. Grab Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. That one really took me by surprise at how it is. Got the lads round and haven't laughed so much on ages - be prepared to look like a wuss. Make sure to film them screaming at the jump scares and embarrass them by sharing online. That's what friends are for!! XD

While it only makes up roughly 25 percent of my play time on console, PSVR is suddenly a reason for getting gamers and non gamers around for a big laugh and some wonder amongst friends. I love it.

I finally got to play the demo, and was very impressed by the atmosphere, the graphics, the sounds, etc, but couldn't see what it had in common with Resident Evil. I wonder if it shouldn't have been a new IP altogether. And I also wonder if the whole game is going to take place inside, or around, that tiny house. As Texas Chainsaw Massacre good as it may sound, it's just too small for a whole game to take place in, I believe. but I'll reserve judgment for when the game comes out. In any case, this game is a very very bold move by Capcom, which is incredible.

I appreciate this design philosophy. You should feel like you're struggling to survive in a survival game. Things shouldn't be handed to you; you should have to work to stay alive. Otherwise, there's no point.

Skeptical as I was at first, the finished demo turned out to be fantastic.
Releasing an unfinished demo and periodically updating it was a risky, bold move that ultimately paid off when it finally completed. Made the demo feel much longer than it actually was, and it kept your attention.
I remember when people thought there'd be no payoff at all for the dummy finger.

So far this is the only reason to buy VR, i'd still be happy with a regular copy with the lights out.

Remember buying Resident Evil as a kid back in the day (that's right it were less of an issue), the guy said "you sure you want to buy this it's pretty adult" that night the lights were off the mansion music in the background and I shit my pants with my heart pumping heavy as I had seen my very first zombie on the CRT.

Ended up getting Barry to help and soon found out aftet that I wereon my own.

RE7 has the potential to perform this again for some lucky kid.

I actually like the direction they have gone with this one, ever since Resident Evil 4 they have become to arcadey and this new FPS element will seriously raise the fear factor around survival horror. My only issue right now is we've had access to footage of the gameplay demo for months and when they finally release a demo it is the bloody same! at least give something we haven't seen before.

Just looking at the screenshots and playing the demo and I know this isn't the right Resident Evil for me.
It's like Alien Isolation, the pacing is glacial and feeling underpowered is not my idea of fun.
Well, see how it sells come release day.

I love resident evil 7 VR, the experience is awesome, however one thing i didn't like was that 30 degree camera reset. I think that the game could be best played in a computer chair, A chair where you can pull off a 360 turn. I understand it's to look faster, but that flicker reset of the camera was effin my brain up. lOl
