The game looks incredible.

Truly breathtaking at times.

Animation is some of the best I've ever seen.

The set pieces are Naughty Dog quality in some places. These moments happen as you are in control which is amazing and really remind me of Shadow of the Colossus. I just wish the camera was better at framing many of these cinematic moments.

fenome2722d ago

I just got it last night and have only put in around 3 hours so far, but I'm loving what I've seen. It honestly looks way better than I thought it would. I can't wait to jump back in after work and see where it takes me next.

mikeslemonade2722d ago

The retail clearly looks better. Not even close to the best looking game but people who say it looks like a PS3 game don't have the critical eye.

sinjonezp2722d ago

I hate the term downgrade every since Ubisoft with watchdogs. In this case, the final release seems to have more and better textures and polygons if you look at the architecture, buildings, etc...the only thing that can be considered a downgrade would be the feathers/fur shading of the animal that follows u - Trico..also the 2015 release used a lot more depth of field compared to the final. That's why u see so much detail in the final release. So imo , the final does more things better, only thing different is the detail of Trico.

isarai2722d ago

I seriously don't get how people first seen this change and saw a downgrade. It looks like nothing but improvements to me

TheOptimist2722d ago (Edited 2722d ago )

It is a downgrade from what I see, some textures have been removed, ambient occlusion is missing from quite many areas, texture resolution has gone down, bloom is missing, this all i can tell, just from the video, I dunno what differences people saw in real life
@isarai
Since you were vague I can't answer to you, I see no added geometry.
@oasdada
I know the right is the retail version
Do you see shadows under the bridge or shadows where light is not likely to reach? In the E3 version the under part of the bridge is lighter and has more detailed shadows from the first one, proof that there is a decrease of ambient occulusion
The amount of feathers have been all blurred out as can b seen in the preview image itself.
Also the light around the edges are very less in the retail version indicating decrease of bloom.
@thehitman
Half the trollers on this site are truth speakers.

isarai2722d ago

Except none of that is even remotely true, hell theres even added geometry to the environment/towers

oasdada2722d ago

The one on the right is retail my friend, bloom and ambient occlusiin both are present in that..

thehitman13982722d ago

Do you just live on ng4 just to troll any Sony game or the system? Is that what feeds you troll appetite?

Teh_Leviathan2721d ago

Why are you lying? lol
There's clearly less detail in the recent footage

UCForce2722d ago (Edited 2722d ago )

Well, I'm not against him. He is very popular.

Tumaras2722d ago

From what I see more textures were improved than turned down. It's a mix though which is what you'd expect from a game in development since they are making changes all the time. For example, the boards on the bridge have better textures than the 2015 demo, but the struts of the bridge look turned down. It's looks good and is definitely not a Watch Dogs-type situation where it was downgraded or misportrayed. A game isn't going to look completely identical after another year in development.

The Last Guardian is remarkably beautiful & breathtaking!

Trico's animation set is always making my jaw hit the foor. The little things truly wow me, like when his head takes up all the space in this one specific doorway/hole and you as the boy need to shove him back out, the way Trico's ears fold up as he squeezes his head out was amazing to witness. These are some of the best animations I've ever seen. The animations from the boy are well done, natural, and believable too.

The game was well worth the wait! I don't like puzzles in video games, but this is making me have a better understanding and respect for them. I haven't had to use YouTube for help. YET lol.

Loving this remarkable achievement. Thank you, Sony, Ueda, and his extremely talented & passionate team :)

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88166d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183164d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie164d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

The Last Guardian Is One of Gaming’s Most Beautiful Depictions of Friendship

Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012849d ago (Edited 849d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog849d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC849d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76849d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
