About the game. The characters are poorly developed, as is the story that suffers with a lifeless world. But in terms of gameplay it turns out to be a decent hack and slash RPG, with some platform sections that might bother some and with bosses that offer an interesting challenge.

The campaign duration is decent, in my case it took me a little over 15 hours to finish it and there are optional content that extends the life of the game. In the end, for the price of the basic version ($19.99) it was worth it.

This special version accompanies: The Game, full-color, 52-page hardcover art book, 25-Track original soundtrack with jewel case, Tarot card deck (22 cards), and a matted art print. So for the price of $49, I think it's not bad at all.

Anima: Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles (XB1) Review | ZTGD

Anthony checks out the sequel to this unique action title.

Shmeidi2136d ago

How critical is it to have played the original Gate of Memories game in order to follow this story? Is this title even worth picking up without having played the other?

ntrskt2134d ago

Anthony here. Not critical to play the original. This is a stand alone title. It is however a game that benefits from knowing the first title, but it is in no way a sequel and not reliant on it. I think there's a fairly inexpensive download pack of both games that I would recommend but if you just want to dip your toes into the world of Anima then honestly just pick one of the two titles and go at it. If you enjoy it then play the other.

Looks cool. I love the art style.
