VGChartz's Paul Broussard: "Yesterday Origins is, unfortunately, difficult to recommend unless you really enjoy trial and error, and even then there are other point and click titles with better stories I’d suggest over it. Yesterday Origins fails to escape many of the flaws of its genre, and doesn’t do enough with its story or characters to tolerate those issues. There is potential to be had with the basic premises of the narrative, but sadly that’s about it."

The story is delightfully bonkers and it looks pretty, but if you dig deep there’s some repetition, some odd stylistic choices and you might not recall it in years to come, but it’s nice to see such a game on Nintendo Switch."
