I haven't got a 4K setup but I imagine R&C looks stunning!

Erik73572755d ago

This "4k" set up is a joke compared to actual 4k on PC....

Utalkin2me2755d ago

You mean 400 dollar console compared to a 3k+ PC?

Erik73572755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

Oh I fully agree with you that get more for your money with a ps4 pro. I'm just telling you its a joke compared to actual 4k that PC 4k setup's have and it misleads people into thinking what 4k gaming actually looks like.
You can get a 4k pc gaming setup under 2000 or less with a 4k monitor included. Your 3,000+ estimate is just lacking in basic knowledge of pc gaming cost.

With the console you have to pay 400 and then around 500 for a 4k capable tv ( that you wouldn't even be seeing 4k footage except for a handful of games) , $900 dollars. But that $900 dollar set up is no where near close to the performance you would be getting with that 2000 dollar build and the $2000 build will look much nicer than ps4 pro.

I'm not saying that's cheap but im saying its not the price your saying and it's actually 4k.

Tapani2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

Yeah but you can't play Uncharted of Ratchet & Clank on that setup and have to pay $3K for box instead of $400. Plus, if you trade in your PS4 you get prolly $150 back, so you are essentially paying $250 for the upgrade. With the rest $2750 you can get a nice Samsung 65" TV and it will display HDR which is not widely available on PC in games. So yeah, it's comparing apples and oranges. PS4 Pro's version of 4K is not fully native, sure I admit that, but it comes pretty close and that's already a lot to say.

Utalkin2me2755d ago

@Erik7357

Lol.....So actual 4k is a joke to actual 4k? You do realize that the PRO does native 4k right? Sure not all games do. But it has already been distinguished the the checkerboard technique lead to almost identical images in 4k for the games that do use it.

So now you're adding the price of the TV too, roflmao. First off i know more about computers then your average person. I used to have a lan setup of 8 computers on three 8 foot tables. Not such much anymore. I have been PC gaming since the original quake and build me a new computer every few years. I have 2.5k in my PC right now and i cant run 4k with a decent framerate (30) using even medium settings. Sure i could had adjusted my build to be more conscious for 4k and got a little more out of it. I buy quality of over quantity. But i figured i would wait to jump 4k in my next build which should get more for my buck.

But anyways 400 dollar machine vs a 2k build is a huge difference and what you get for price is hands down much better offering for people that is more budget minded. And not to mention it's all about the games. I would hate to only own a PC, missing out on great games that dont come to PC.

So why do you care exactly if you have a 4K capable PC? GTFOH.

Wow, now it looks like a CG movie! The only thing holding it back before was the aliasing but without them and the much improved motion blur, everything just looks movie quality.

pyroxxx2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

That is what I am most excited about,.. Ratchet having some Aliasing issues on PS4 ,.. IQ should now be bananas. So basically CGI quality game.

Monstieur2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

There are still elements of cheapness, like the water particles and the flat looking laser beam that clips through the smoke. I don't understand why they keep compromising on some things.

Movefasta19932755d ago

It's weird because crack in time has amazing water effects, but they didn't use it here. But still a huge step forward for the franchise

IamTylerDurden12755d ago

The Pyrociter fire effect is cheap, but overall Ratchet is a showcase game.

Ju2755d ago

Really? This isn't a new game. It's been "upgraded". For free.
