Skyrim Remaster Xbox One Receives Over 20 Minutes of Gameplay, Looks Like It Runs At 30fps

Just days ahead of the release of the Skyrim remaster, we finally have some actual gameplay footage to see whether the improvements that Bethesda promised at E3 this year will truly be delivered in the final release. But with over 20 minutes of gameplay footage that was just released for us to see, I think we can put all of our doubts to rest- it seems like The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Special Edition will indeed be living up to its name, and provide a truly special rendition of the classic game.

An average PC runs this game 60+ fps and we are getting 30fps with drops on the PS4 and Xbox One.Again another cash in by Bethesda, shame on them! We saw Bethesda doing this crap work on Dishonored definitive edition another game that run at 60+ fps on ancient PC hardware but is 30fps on Ps4 and Xbox one and now again on Skyrim remaster, lame, now see reviews going for the 9/10 of this lousy cash in remaster ...

Palitera2758d ago (Edited 2758d ago )

Money loves graphics, not frame rate.
Nothing new here.

ginsunuva2758d ago

They could have easily done both. It's not like Skyrim has amazing graphics or anything.

Glad I decided to go with the PC version. Bogus that they Remastered the game and didn't boost the FPS.

2pacalypsenow2758d ago

Majority of gamers focus more on graphics than framerare, and most gaming companies cater towards the majority because its were the most money is.

Yui_Suzumiya2758d ago

I bought Dishonored Definitive day 1 brand new which is like 1 in 100 games for me. I didn't regret that purchase in the slightest.

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2758d ago

It's running on the Fallout 4 iteration of the engine, revisions that Fallout 4 already have built in (lighting, Atmospheric filtering, Shadows, Draw distance improvements, etc.) and that game runs at 1080p 30fps as well... so what is your point?

ColonelHugh2758d ago

"An average PC runs this game 60+ fps"

I would hope not. Any frames above 60 and the physics engine bugs out, causing sped up collisions and flying buckets and mammoths. Anyone playing Skyrim on PC needs to limit the fps to 60 or even 59 just in case.

conanlifts2758d ago

Dishonored ran in 4k/60 on my 970 and so does skyrim with the texture packs loaded. My cpu is fairly decent though which might be helping the fps.

the shop here has it, will get it on thursday XD
(only because i never played it yet)

MasterCornholio2758d ago (Edited 2758d ago )

I haven't played the expansion's so I see value in the game. Plus it's been 5 years I wouldn't mind playing it again.

However, if it's a broken bugthesda of a game I won't buy it.

@below

I've seen it as low as 50€ here. But if I can get it even lower that would be great.

Edit:

Whoah!!

I didn't mean to anger so many people with my comment. I respect the opinion of others but I believe they should respect mine as well. Plus it's my money so I can buy what I want with it.

Darkwatchman2758d ago

I never played any dlc and last played it 5 years ago. I don't think it's a $60 value at all. Maybe at $30, but $60 for a single remastered game from 5 years ago???

MasterCornholio2758d ago

I could always pick up Fallout 4 for 30€ but that game is pretty much broken.

Dark_Knightmare22758d ago (Edited 2758d ago )

That's like saying well that movie I really enjoyed came out in 1970 so it's 46 years later and I don't see the value of buying it on Blu Ray or 4k for 25 or 30. I'm just tired of people treating games different oh I beat it so I can never play it again which is ridiculous or I'm tired of remasters I bought it once already but it's fine that I bought Star wars, lotr etc like 6 times on home format. I treat my favorite games like my movies if I enjoy it I'm going to buy better versions of it and I'm going to play through it multiple times.

Darkwatchman2758d ago (Edited 2758d ago )

@darkknight

Who says I buy movies multiple times??? I don't care much for movies. I only ever got into them with blu-Ray so every movie I've bought I only saw in theaters or i saw for the first time on blu-Ray or they're collection sets of my favorite movies, but at cheap prices. The Spider-Man trilogy and matrix ultimate collections for example were bought by me for $30-40 each.

I don't buy the same movies multiple times at ridiculous prices. Most movies I've bought on Bly-Ray are movies I've never seen. I liked Skyrim. It's a good game, but $60 for a 5 year old game is not worth it. If it was a collection of all the modern elder scrolls games, then yeah. $60 day 1, but for just one game, I'd rather spend the $60 on a game I've never played. Thanks

Edit: Skyrim is also nowhere near one of my favorite games at all. I have no desire to replay it as clearly stated by the fact I only played it through once 5 years ago and never returned to it like all these hardcore fans that still play the game to this day. I don't care enough for the game to buy it again for the price of a new game.

Hell, I even waited for the last of us on ps4, my favorite game, to go down to $40 before I bought it even though I never played any of the multiplayer or single player dlc. I don't like my wallet to get fucked. I don't bend over backwards for developers and publishers.

SUCKxITxEZ2758d ago

Considering Fallout 4 followed the trend, I don't see why they would start polishing their games now. It's not like people learn and stop supporting this shit.

MatrixxGT2758d ago

Maybe because their games aren't "shit".

If people only bought 100% bug free masterpieces then we wouldn't be playing very many games.

While Bethesda celebrates Skyrim's anniversary, it is worth remembering that the long-awaited Starfield should have launched this month too.

Dragon Quest 11 isn't even the best Dragon Quest game, it's a good game, but not the best. Dragon Quest 8 is superior to it in almost every way.

thorstein901d ago

...and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4....

I am biased.

Hofstaderman901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

OK let's end this, in order
Xenogears
Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 6
Chrono Trigger
Legend of Dragoon
Breath of Fire 4
Breath of Fire 3
Dragon Quest 8
Dragon Quest 11
Vagrant Story
Saga Frontier 2
Chrono Cross
Suikoden 2
Suikoden
Threads of Fate
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Lunar 2

Jiub901d ago

Sometimes I forget how much of a powerhouse the PS1 was

MadLad901d ago

I don't play too many jrpgs, and I'm trying to diversify a bit.

Outside of FF and Dragon Quest, what two games from that list do you most recommend someone trying? Doesn't matter if it's a sequel to another game or not.

Jiub901d ago

IMO: Chrono Trigger and Suikoden II

thorstein901d ago

Octopath Traveler is really good.

BlaqMagiq1901d ago

You have Threads of Fate on there which means you get my ultimate respect. Underrated and overlooked.

Exvalos901d ago

Man your dang near spot on absolute spot on choices

Epicor900d ago

I like your top 6 a lot. I don't have the same orders but all those games would make my top 10 RPG list most likely. Number 1 for me is FFIX. It holds a special place in my heart and imo it's the perfect Final Fantasy game.

In addition I would give special mention to some western RPG's as well: Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 were iconic games. Out of JRPG's I'd like to add Disgaea 2 on that list.

Some of my personal favorites are Planescape: Torment, New Vegas, Morrowind, Kotor 2, Wasteland 3, Witcher 2, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Deus Ex, Disco Elysium and Vampyr.

As far as jrpg, while I'm not as big a fan as I am for Western RPGs, I love Persona 3 - 5, Dragon Quest 8 and 11, Rogue Galaxy, Final Fantast 6,7, and 12; and Lost Odyssey.

LoveSpuds901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

Some quality taste in games there squire.

I'd add some Baldurs Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights from back in the day too.

MadLad901d ago

Should have added BG2. Played through it many times over the years.

Never could get into Neverwinter Nights though. Not sure why.

Omegasyde900d ago

Loved rouge galaxy. Fav game from Level 5.

ManMarmalade901d ago

Legend of Dragoon #1 game of all time for me

Who's actually buying this?

deleted922d ago

I can't get excited about flat Skyrim anymore after trying it in VR. It's the only way I'll even play it now.

justadelusion922d ago

they say there is a sucker born every min, so probably a lot of ppl

Darkborn922d ago

Your both right. I have played it on psvr and it's far superior to the regular game, even with mods. And yeah, just like with GTA, people will rebuy this game again for sure.

922d ago
andydalum922d ago

I will probably buy it. Aside from me this game has been out for 10 years so a entire new group of gamers might enjoy it as well. For me I love this game and don't find myself enjoying many rpgs like I do skyrim.

Games are about having fun and I have fun with skyrim even now

Yui_Suzumiya922d ago

I've never bought or played it before (more of a Fallout fan) but I plan on eventually getting Skyrim for the Switch.

Honestly at this point I just wished they remastered Oblivion for a change instead of this every 2 weeks.

Rachel_Alucard922d ago (Edited 922d ago )

I'd be afraid of them changing the charming aspects of the game for being too old or not in line with what Skyrim brought in. Like redoing VAs with different people, changing the way models look but also restricting everything in character creator to do that, or just rewriting quest dialogue for whatever reason. I can remember the Adoring fan, Glarthir, and the grey prince clear as day 15 years later, but in Skyrim I can only remember the guy you click a single option to buy him a drink in Whiterun and he goes, "My favorite drinking buddy" every single time you see him. Plus the other 2 obnoxious NPCs in whiterun that just exist to be obnoxious.

Yui_Suzumiya922d ago (Edited 922d ago )

I've been hollering for a Fallout 3 Remastered and it never came either, lol. I have to fire up my PS3 in order to play Fallout 3 but you can play this on damn near everything, lol

Rebel_Scum922d ago

Would be nice if the new content came to the existing editions on various consoles.
