Activision have announced support for a forthcoming accelerometer device for the NintendoDS, in the form of two new titles; Tony Hawk's Motion and Hue Pixel Painter. After the success of Guitar Hero: On Tour, it comes as no surprise to find the publisher turning to add-ons to increase their share of the NintendoDS's lucrative causal market.
In Tony Hawk's Motion players can twist, tilt and turn through numerous skateboarding sessions and for the first time in franchise history, the game brings snowboarding to its line-up adding to the more than twenty diverse mini-challenges available including new ones like Rail Hopper and Slalom and familiar ones like Hawk-Man and High Score...
G4TV's Sterling McGarvery Writes:
I still remember the Sunday afternoon in October 1999 when I caught a subway to a Blockbuster Video to rent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater based on a neighbor's recommendation. Little did I realize that it would spark a love affair that would start before the Birdman Bandwagon fired up and would last well beyond the point at which "Downhill Jam" wasn't just a spin-off, it was a pithy descriptor of the series.
GamePlanet tried hard to think of some genuinely positive comments to make about Tony Hawk's Motion, but came back empty. This crass marketing exercise is designed to milk more money from the Tony Hawk cow and should be avoided at all costs.
Team Teabag writes: "I've been a fan of the Tony Hawk series since his first incarnation on the Playstation and if you're looking for a walk down memory lane then this might very well be the game for you, and by that I mean that this also has the horrible fuzzy graphics of yesteryear."
hmm DS motion support and a new Tony Hawk game with snowboarding in it... could be fun I suppose will have to hear some hands on impressions down the road
What the hell is that "Hue Pixel Painter"??? Guessing it's not for the hardcore...
