On behalf of all lifelong Nintendo fanboy's, please stop.

PhoenixUp2779d ago (Edited 2779d ago )

Are you stalking my posts now? There are no other big Wii U exclusives planned for the rest of the year.

@ wonder

A surprise in two months on Wii U? I doubt that. It's pretty clear that Nintendo doesn't have much planned for Wii U for the rest of 2016 and it's far too late to announce any games at this point that could be released in the holiday season

wonderfulmonkeyman2779d ago

Far as we know, but Nintendo likes to come out with surprises.
It won't likely be anything that'll cause any huge sales bursts, but I think they'll have a surprise or two lined up for Christmas for the Wii U. And to be fair, Color Splash is getting waaaaay more positive reviews than some people thought it would, so that's at least something great to enjoy while the Holidays approach.

I actually like the wii u, too bad it never caught on and nintendo had to pull the plug. It kind of reminds me of the gamecube library wise, a handful of really awesome exclusive games and not much else.

I'm not a big fan of paper Mario series but the graphics on this game really look good

Veneno2778d ago

To me it looks like a 2nd graders art project. I don't understand why they would go with this asthetic. It doesn't add anything.

rjason122777d ago

Cause it's fucking paper Mario? What do you expect, uncharted, halo, or metroid asthetic?

Veneno2777d ago

Maybe something more impressive like origami. I'm sure they could've researched prominent paper artists (real artists) work that's out there and done something with that. But I suppose low hanging fruit is easiest.

ChronoJoe2778d ago

The reception is favourable but alongside Gears of War 4 and Dragon Quest builders it looks like consumers on other platforms would be having a better time (going by critical reception alone). It also doesn't live up to the Paper Mario series, as I think the original and thousand year door are exellent games.

This seems like fun, but for me the lack fo RPG systems, party building and character development really neglects what I loved about the original paper Mario titles.

rjason122777d ago

It's not either or, people have multiple systems and can get multiple games.

ChronoJoe2777d ago

Unfortunately I don't think that's the case for the majority. Personally I have a Wii U and PS4 but don't have an XBOX ONE at the moment. I want to buy another sometime soon but the price is an unavoidable issue.

JumpAction2778d ago

This looks like a very fun game. I'm going to play it once I clear up my backlog a little bit!

It can be very easy to get caught up in press and the multitude of opinions that are shared on the internet. Sometimes it's nice to just ease your shoulders, take a few breaths and appreciate that video games come in all shapes and sizes. This games looks like it will be a fun way to spend some time. :)

Paper Mario: Color Splash Is Great, Actually

Following up a disappointing game in the final days of the Wii U was a tough job but somebody had to do it.

Super Paper Mario is by far my favorite. The sticker stuff they came out with after was a terrible way to go. Super has an amazing fun story with humor beyond any other mario game before it. I loved the platforming style WAY more than turn based mechanics that pause the games progress and make it much longer than needed. The sticker idea was the worst thing the series ever did. I bought a 3ds to play it and I wish I had never bought the console.

6 Franchises Nintendo Needs to Resurrect on Switch

The Punished Backlog's David Silbert writes:

"Nintendo is widely known for its deep, eclectic well of beloved franchises. From The Legend of Zelda to Wrecking Crew, there’s no library in gaming as rich in history or as popular among fans.

2019 is shaping up to be a banner year for Nintendo, with representatives from Mario, Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Pokémon all gracing the Switch platform before the year’s end. At the same time, there are still plenty of Nintendo franchises that lie dormant this generation, in desperate need of the “Switch treatment.”

While there are plenty of legendary series worthy of a revival, here are six in particular I would absolutely kill to see on Switch in the near future."

A new Golden Sun and Mother would be great, but I wish I wasn't the only one that wants a new StarTropics.
