Resident Evil 7 biohazard Exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 Months

Capcom has only ever shown Resident Evil 7 biohazard on the PlayStation VR, as an exclusive, but as shown in the image below – which appeared on Reddit from a reported Facebook ad – that image has some interesting info in the bottom left hand side, stating: “Resident Evil 7 biohazard coming in 2017 and exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 months.”

This will move some hardware. Its on the top of my personal list. I really wanted a good VR horror to play before Christmas and RE in VR would get the job done.

Dont care if its exclusive or not i just wanna play VR games (:

Edit: my bad. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and Here they lie, it is. I keep forgetting RE is next year because there is so many games coming before Christmas that i just assumed RE is also coming soon.

Resident Evil 7 doesn't come out until January so you won't be able to play it before Christmas. Unless you mean Christmas 2017 xD

@TheColbertinator

Yes, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a PSVR launch title. I would have loved a proper Until Dawn VR game. Not saying that Rush of Blood won't be good, but it's an on rails shooter with the Until Dawn name tacked on.

Is Until Dawn VR releasing this year?

Horror games are probably the only thing that would make me pick up a PSVR. I feel like this is a market VR should be hitting harder than they currently are.

TeamLeaptrade2780d ago

I don't think I could handle horror games on a VR headset myself. I can barely handle most horror games as it is.

ifistbrowni2780d ago

Agreed, I'm a huge fan of getting spooked. But, I'm kinda worried that even I wont be able to handle too much horror in VR. I haven't tried VR at all, but if it's as "game-changing" as the media portrays it to be, then I don't know how much of a game like Outlast I could take.

Granted, Outlast wasn't THAT scary, but as a trophy-whore completing both the base game and DLC without dying was definitely some of the most scary shit I've ever played.

bouzebbal2780d ago (Edited 2780d ago )

right now adon't think it would.. PS4 is on its own league atm and nothing can stop it.
This is a race to VR supremacy.. This is definitely a good move from Sony.
January 24th release date

VR might do good at launch but by the end of next year it wont be talked about anymore

S2Killinit2780d ago

Trust me. VR is going to blow minds. It will only get better.

ifistbrowni2780d ago

Would like to buy a PSVR before RE7 but I will definitely buy a PSVR for RE7.

So regular PS4 not getting it either for 1 year

Kurisu2781d ago (Edited 2781d ago )

I'm confused by this. Do they mean exclusive to PS4 AND PSVR for a year? Because it's a VR compatible game, not a VR required game. Also, it would really hurt sales if it wasn't available to the full 40+ million PS4 install base.

DJStotty2780d ago

exclusive to PSVR for 12 months. Simultaneous launch for xbox one/ps4, otherwise it would say exclusive to ps4/vr.

In other words will be launched on rift etc 12 months later

ziggurcat2781d ago

no. it means that the VR version is exclusive to PSVR for one year, not the game altogether. stop spreading FUD.

daynnight3652780d ago

Everything was cool but the last sentence of yours. He asked a question, I don't believe his motive was to spread fear uncertainty and doubt.

Sevir2780d ago

The game is fully playable in VR, but VR is not necessary! All they are saying is PSVR will be the only VR platform RE7 is available for an entire year.

The game will be available on PS4 and XBO day and date and will support PS4 Pro as well

trooper_2780d ago

When was this said? VR is a service, not a console.

Really? I thought by default it was already going to work on the Oculus Rift? I assumed anyway.

Now you know why Resident Evil is 'free' with psn this month.

I can finally play Half Life Alyx.

mariopasta53d ago

I can finally watch pron, I mean watch pronouns be pronounced in PC VR games that were previously not available on Playstation.

crazyCoconuts53d ago

be careful not to sprain your... tongue pronouncing those pronouns

Profchaos53d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts53d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

DaReapa53d ago

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
