I dont get this feeling on my xb1.

Aenea2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

So the author needs to get an X1 to get out of his gaming funk, even tho 99% of the games available are the exact same?

zb1ftw7772776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

No they arent.

The PS4 is loaded with jrpgs, rpgs, failed exclusives and indies, which is what the author is moaning about.

The xb1 doesnt come with a tonne of shit like the ps4, which means the playerbase isnt spread into a tonne of useless crapolas.

Topped of with the fact that being in the UK i only mostly game with uk or usa players and not a million random foreigners with whome i have no interest in listening too, my xb1 experience vastly superscedes this guys ps4 experience.

@zb1ftw777 "The PS4 is loaded with jrpgs, rpgs, failed exclusives and indies, which is what the author is moaning about. "

I think Microsoft are the ones with the failed exclusives. Except Halo, all their other games struggle to sell 1 million. Meanwhile even the Order 1886 did it without any problem. The PS4 has better exclusives and more diversity in them.

JRPGs, RPGs and indies. What's wrong with diversity? It's one of the reason why the PS4 is winning by such a huge margin. The Xbox One gives you the same thing every year but on a different platter. Plus there is no point in buying a Xbox One now since all their games can be played on PC from now on and the old ones aren't worth it anyway. You also don't need much of a PC to run their games at low or medium settings on 1080p resolution and they will look better than Xbox One while having 60fps.

Meanwhile, everything else other than Forza, Halo and Gears microsoft tries to come up with fails critically and salewise. Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, ReCore and Ori of the blind forest sales are terrible and let's be realistic, Sea of Thieves will get the same fate.

Pretty much everything else you guys think will beat the PS4 ends failing miserably. The Pro will beat the Scorpio on US and UK salewise because it's coming out a year earlier and at a much lower price point. The Scorpio is dead on arrival because it's a premium high-end product which is likely gonna cost above 500$. The Scorpio is the next "Cloud", which failed miserably to dethrone the PS4.

@zb1ftw777

It's folk like you that give us normal Xbox fans a bad name, especially when its uninformed, blind, bullshit!

The xbox has as many indies as PS4, but less of them are high profile. We also have the preview program which is introducing even more indie titles to the console.

Both consoles essentially offer the same experience from 3rd parties and diversify with exclusives. There are some outstanding PS titles I've enjoyed and I have many more to look forward to. Also, the recent PSN sales have offered much better discounts on popular titles than Live. Maybe you should try and pick up a Dual Shock before slinging mud and I say that as someone who has had an Xbox as my primary console since the OG Xbox.

You also give the UK a bad name with your backwards ass bigotry. I love getting to play with the rest of Europe. I've met some awesome people even though we don't always understand each other.

I'm not gonna apologise for getting personal but your attitudes and others like you are a blight on society. And don't even give me any "my opinion" BS cos we don't have to respect every opinion when it's rooted in hate.

@zb1ftw
You say the Xbox doesn't come with a "ton of shit like the PS4" or have a "ton of foreigners", but the games the author's talking about are *literally* on Xbox. Skyrim and MGSV, the games the author name drops, are quite literally multiplatform. MGS is even made by Japanese developers. You're putting words in the author's mouth he never said.

rainslacker2776d ago

@zb

So X1 isn't filled with failed exclusives and tons of indies, but has plenty of the same games that PS4 has, so somehow, PS4 is worse?

I really fail to see your logic, since X1 does have plenty of indies, and it's share of failed exclusives....and I've never seen the argument that fewer games is good except from those trying to say that one systems games aren't quality games.....which PS has plenty of.

Oh wow...

You didn't read the article did you? Maybe the first paragraph but beyond that you stopped, decided "stupid PS4 player, I don't have that issue, must be those jrpgs, indies, failed exclusives all those damn foreigners!".

When you would have read further you would've noticed he talks and moans about games like Skyrim, Divinity: Original Sin, MGSV, Assassin's Creed 2, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Except for the last one all these are also available on your precious Xbox. The last one is of course a Nintendo game and has nothing to do with the PS4.

He's talking about gaming in general, would you've read beyond the little word 'PS4' you would have gotten that, instead you immediately made you up your mind and created all those pre-conceived reasons why he would be in a gaming funk and why you will never be in the same situation.

It's crazy how much stupidity your post conveyed, I have no words. Then again you probably don't fully read this post either because I'm one of those random foreigners you hate so much...

Also:

Finally an Xbox fanboy who admits the PS4 has more games and more diversity! 😜

nosferatuzodd2776d ago

Lol how could he he's a troll trying to justify his preacious xbone

ninsigma2776d ago

Don't need an article. Just need to look at commenters like you. YOU'RE what's wrong with gaming today.

Sunny_D2776d ago

Lmao, speaking of failed exclusives. What games does the Xbox have again? Forza Horizon 3 after what 3 Years; it gets a actual decent exclusive?

Talking to foreigners? You do know most games use peer to peer in a region that is similar to yours. Any other game allows you to use different servers. Ex: Rocket League.

While I agree with some of what the article had, the author clearly has no clue what he's talking about in other things.

Divinity original sin looks pretty and looks far prettier than a lot of other indie rpg's. Larian didn't spend much time on story at all, that's why it had such bad writing and it was goofy as hell. The game doesn't have good choices and consequences but rather fun and creative combat and that matters a lot when your game is 90% combat.

Original sin also allows you to level up very far and become ridiculously powerful, obviously not as much as Skyrim but it is clear which class to play.
Divinity isn't that special going by the examplesyou mention, instead it seems like you're a generic AAA gamer with the fact that you mentioned Skyrim, Ass Creed and battlefield.
Perhaps you only played Divinity original sin because it came out on PS4 recently and it was popular for an indie.

There are more games like it that are better than it that have released.

Adrian_v012776d ago

He actually made good points. You just sound like another "AAA is doom" type of gamer. Read the article again, maybe then you'll understand what he meant.

sullynathan2776d ago

I literally said I agree with him on many points nor did I say that AAA is doom. God, you N4G users are crazy.

_-EDMIX-_2776d ago

lol agreed.

If you've read any of Sully's comments, it legit sounds like he believes the industry is on its last leg, any day folks ARMAGEDDON!!

Adrian_v012776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

You said "I agree with some of what the article had" and that's the only positive you said, the rest of your comment is attacking the article without substance.

The author didn't say that Divinity has good choices and consequences, he said that the game gives you choices in the way you play it, which is two completely different things.

In every game once you pass a certain level you'll be overkill, that wasn't the point either. The point is that it actually matters in Divinity what class you are, it's not like Skyrim, where the class choice is only supperficial and doesn't affect gameplay or combat.

He literally praised Divinity for the game it is, yet you attack him as if he said it's the shittiest game ever.

But your comment history reveals the kind you are, either bitter with your own life or just simply a hater (if there even is a difference). You end 90% of your arguments with "God, you N4G users are crazy". Yet here you are, on a website you dislike, with users you dislike. Get your life together.

sullynathan2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

Have you actually played Divinity Original Sin? I attacked his comments on divinity because it sounded like someone who didn't play divinity long enough or someone who hasn't played many rpgs at all. Basically my comment corrected certain things he said.

If you've played Divinity original sin, you know that it doesn't matter what class you are because there is one best class in the game and your partners can fill out the rest. Hell, Original sin allows you to buy npcs as squad mates and allows you to pretty much mold them into anything you want. Again, invalidating you and the authors point which is what I was trying to say.
It's even stupid to compare classes in Divinity with Skyrim, because the latter doesn't have classes in the usual sense.

Skyrim also gave you choices on how you want to play. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that if the author wants to make an article like this, he can certainly pick better games to make his point.

Again, Divinity Original Sins story was just as barebones as Skyrim's yet he claims Larian spent time on its Story which if you actually played the game you know the story was a joke. Hell, at the end you find that the story is just a story that one elf was telling other elves.

For your other comments you are just delusional. Divinity original sin is one of my favorite games, you should be able to tell that after scouring through my profile. I also have many AAA games in my favorites list too but you want to ignore that.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast27d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22927d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko27d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave27d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan27d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
