CTgamers: "You’ve seen the old pics, “I’ve never learned so much from people who never existed” Well for me personally, I can say that this is true. I’ve been through many difficult periods in my life. Incorporating aspects of how these strong characters deal with the cards they were dealt and how they handle their situation in life provided me a lot of courage when I need it most. Sure they are not real, we all know that, but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel for them and emulate the good parts of what makes these characters great."
Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.
If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.
The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.

I really hate how Cloud's characterization has been extremely flanderized across various media. It really goes against much the development he went through in FFVII.
In the original game, Cloud was only angsty and showed insecurities on occasion during appropriate situations, and was perfectly fine by the end of the game. In all other appearances, he's constantly a brooding loner.

I honestly don't get the whole hype around Cloud in gaming in general. A lot of people swear Final Fantasy 7 as "the pinnacle" of gaming - why? Because it's the first with CG cut scenes? The first FF game on PlayStation? Because Sephiroth is an emo kid with mommy issues? I seriously don't get it.
And before people start arguing "You didn't play 7" I played it when it first released back in 97, obtained Gold Chocobo, completed Battle Saucer for W Summon, Omnislash, and also beat Emerald weapon without Underwater materia.
If I had to pick my favorite FF games it would be 6 and 8. At the time 7 did bring a lot to the table, but I wouldn't claim as the "end all" of FF games.
