The industry already did that with wii...

KimoNoir3445d ago

Why should us gamers care if anyone likes games or not?

Strakken3444d ago

Because games aren't just entertainment, they're the next evolution of media that is on the verge of being accepted as such. Just like when cinema was first introduced to the world.

HentaiMasterRace3445d ago (Edited 3445d ago )

Wii was pretty much the only one to do that.

Lol.

I'm all for the analysis of topics that need be studied, but I am a little lost on this one. Is it something more than the fact that until recently, the industry has been dominated by male players. It is changing and females are slowly being represented, so why does everything need to be pushed forward. It will move on its own, especially as more and more females become developers.

And...money. As it becomes more profitable to feature female heroes and villians, we will see more. It's quite simple, most villians are men b/c most gamers have been male in the past. As an addendum I would like to add this. Imagine if a game in the last 10 years decided to break the mold by making a violent, evil female villian. OMG...the outrage that would ensue.

Maybe I'm not thin-skinned, but I can't think of a time I've been offended by the portrayal of a man in a game.

TheSaint3481d ago

One of the main differences between men and women IMO, men generally don't give a f*** about this sort of thing.

Women get all jealous that they are fat and complain.

scark923481d ago

I don't see the logic of getting jealous of being fat xD

Ogygian3482d ago

I'm offended by people who take offense therefore this article offends me.

Tankbusta403482d ago

I really hope this is a parody.
