I want to try the suit at least once lol!

I've said before that the thing missing from the VR experience is a feedback suit. Well... there it is.

I still have yet to understand how the Pro improves the VR experience when the PSVR is a fixed format HMD. With a total resolution of 1920x1080 – that's 960x1080 per eye. Unless Sony plans on releasing a PSVR 2.0 that delivers higher resolution and HDR in the next year or so.

You don't think PC specs matter when delivering a VR experience, works the same way. Better graphics, smoother gameplay, same as a normal game, with better specs it can give you a better experience.

In the PC world you can turn off such things that inhibit the performance seen on screen (like v-sync). With the PSVR, I dont think they have that ability. The PSVR, as it is, is a fixed HMD and Pro will only serve to allow the display to reach its max abilities on a more consistent basis.

the main selling point of the Pro is that it exceeds the PS4 and really shines on a 4k display. PSVR is not a 4k display and we have yet to really see the performance difference between the Pro and regular with the same game on the same 1080p display.

wait wait wait, the PSVR is basically, a monitor. Now if had a 1080p monitor and I had a PC that was able to play games mid-high settings based on the specs of that pc. Now I upgrade this said PC enough to play the games on ultra settings instead of mid to high settings, I would see this difference on my monitor because it is just displaying what the machine is able to output. I feel I kind of repeated myself but I am not sure my point is getting across. You wouldn't have to turn certain settings off because the PS4 pro doesn't need to have certain settings off now cause it is able to have them on with the specs, with the PS4, these settings were turned off to begin with. The PSVR is basically a monitor. Plus they already said that this would benefit games in 1080p, they have talked about this at the event they held. https://youtu.be/l44DpEF8Qc...

"have yet to understand how the Pro improves the VR experience when the PSVR is a fixed format HMD"

it doesnt mean you can`t add extra layers of details just because you have a fixed resolution, it could be more vegetation, better textures, more polycount on objects, better lightings details, better draw distance etc.., thats pretty easy to understand, really.

Yeah i figured that. So a regular ps4 and a pro as it pertains to psvr would be the same with a bit more detail from pro.

Now, had they made the display capable of more than what is effectively 1080p then we would see the benefit of pro as it would be able to play to the increased fidelity of a higher res psvr display.

So in essence there may be a psvr 2.0 like there have been updated rift units that exceed the specs of the initial units.

So... pro on psvr 2.0 would be akin to pro on a 4k display. Meaning that while the 1.0 will look good (1080p) 2.0 would make it look even better.

PSVR needs at least 60fps to run well, to achieve that on standard PS4 developers need to either not make the game graphic intensive, lower effects settings or render in a lower resolution before upscaling to 1920x1080.

Farpoint apparently renders in a lower resolution than PSVR can actually do and the PS4 Pro makes it possible for them to double the amount of pixels they are rendering...

crazyCoconuts52d ago

Profchaos52d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts52d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
