I would play MP with my friend and his dad. If we were playing on a level with windows, that's where his dad could be found. Endlessly shooting the windows. Lol

Shooting all the lights out in perfect dark was interesting challenge too. Sad most modern games don't have that feature.

Honestly, I love emulating it. Plays so well. N64 has some of the best old school 3d games, but that controller, although I love it, I also hate it as well.

This Goldeneye remake was done in the same manner as Perfect Dark XBL, the graphics were enhanced but gameplay was unchanged. Apparently Goldeneye "HD" was canceled because MS and Nintendo had a disagreement over the 360 version of the game being superior to the Wii port.

Rare is Rare in name only... the magic is long gone. Conker's Bad Fur Day was their swan song in my opinion, everything after has been painfully average or just garbage. And you are right... Live & Reloaded ruined what should have been an easy remaster.

What was wrong with Viva Piñata? Got prettier good reviews and was a fun charming game. 8.5/10 IGN; 84% Metacritic. That's above "painfully average".

Same for Nuts & Bolts. Fans were upset it was a departure from the original series but it was still a fun and innovative game.

Sea of Thieves looks potentially promising too.

I still find the game fun, there is something oddly addicting to it's gun play, problem is the framerate and the controls which would have been fixed in this remake.

MS/XBOX needs to get MGM, Activision in a room and hammer out a deal o get the game license so o bring it to Xbox and allow the Coalition to combine it with its Shanghai demo . That would be awesome

That looks pretty. I remember this reading about the cancellation way back when it happened. Must be about 8 years ago at this point. The game was almost done, but they couldn't reach an agreement with Nintendo. Sucks.

Yeah it was known about for a long time but we haven't good footage like this or seen some of the levels shown, shame it never came out.

This was actually leaked years ago by somebody called Oddjaw2 but given how things turned out I can't see his explanation being the reason behind it's cancellation. There were debates back then as to if it should genuinely happen as the game is very dated now.

You had to live back in N64 days to feel what we did for that game. We had zero first person shooters on consoles like it at the time. It was legendary for the genre and I still call it the "Daddy of first person shooters on consoles".

I would so buy a digital version on Wii U if they ever had it. (WILL NEVER HAPPEN THOUGH).

Anyone remember how much time you had to complete The Facility level to get the invincibility cheat? 2:05 is what you needed, LOL.

That's good they cancelled it because playing a game that gave you so much joy on a different platform and at a different point in life isnt the same if they were to do it now and on a different platform. wouldn't work

The N64 is still to this day the best multiplayer console I have ever owned. Yes, I know there was no online but there has never been another time where me and my friends would get together so regularly for all night split-screen with Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Mario Kart 64. I would absolutely love a remaster of the original much like Perfect Dark. Coincidentally N64 was the last Nintendo console I actually liked.

Before that remake Rare was working on their own version for 360 without permission. Guess how it ended.

So essentially Nintendo who published the game, Microsoft who owns Rare, Sony who owns the movie rights, Activision who owns the licenses to publish James Bond games, and EA who owns the rights to "GoldenEye" need to agree on how to remake this.

There's no point in remaking a failed remake at this point. Goldeney 007 was in the top 5 best games ever. Perfect Dark would be nowhere without that game. Most FPS games would not exist were it not for Goldeneye's modern shooting. The game was ahead of its time on all fronts. Hell, it's better than the movie!
