The Witness for Xbox One Announced

Jonathan Blow and Thekla Inc. are aiming to bring The Witness to the Xbox One later this year.

MasterCornholio2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

I knew it would arrive sooner or later.

:)

Fantastic game and I highly recommend it.

Enjoy Xbox fans.

Edit:

"Blow and his team at Thekla Inc. are aiming for a September 13, 2016"

In case anyone missed it.

NukaCola2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

I wish this came to Vita. It's a perfect choice fit.

BTW, this game ia awesome. If you like a wicked challenge that changes the way you look at the world in a game, then this is you

leoms2804d ago

I'm as shocked as you are

game4funz2803d ago

Mainly because this title was used in list wars. Ps players not happy.

Eonjay2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

This was completely expected. Enjoy

Majister-Ludi2804d ago

Respectfully disagree anything in this game can be found in a simple puzzle book except it's easier just to turn the page then having to walk around to do the puzzles.

lelo2play2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

Will it sell? Hype is completely gone by now... most people are probably going to wait till it's dirt cheap, specially if they put the game at full price.

MasterCornholio2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

Depends if Xbox fans like puzzle games.

@Colb

I'm glad that you enjoy those types of Japanese games but did you ever try JRPGS before? I highly recommend looking into JRPGs like Persona 5 for example.

Although not JRPG Scalebound looks interesting for Xbox One and PC gamers. Platinum is making it so it should be good. Same goes for Nier Automata which I'm pretty sure is coming to Xbox One as well..

Edit:

Orly?

Thought you were being serious for a moment. Without the /S I have trouble detecting sarcasm.

TheColbertinator2804d ago

No we prefer "shoujo otome visual novel" games

coolbeans2804d ago

"Same goes for Nier Automata which I'm pretty sure is coming to Xbox One as well."

I don't think that's the case. The future for that one suggests console exclusivity too (PS4/PC).

rdgneoz32804d ago

If Nier Automata goes to xbox, then Scalebound would go to PS4. Both of which won't likely happen, as both are made by separate divisions of Platinum and are exclusives.

Errorist762804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

No idea who's alternate accounts downvoted you, but you're spot on rdgneoz3.

Redgehammer2803d ago

From the creator of Braid, I am in.

game4funz2803d ago

I do hope Nier comes to xbox. Like Scalebound there is probably a deal behind it all.

I'm going to wait until its free. and then download it and never play it.

its_JEFF2804d ago (Edited 2804d ago )

@lelo2play you bring up a really good point, I think the space between it's release and now isn't that long. Not long enough to completely kill all the hype. They won't have to do that much marketing and advertising, any longer and I think it would have been a detriment to the game.

Edit: People will buy this game. Tomb Raider on the other hand, may be another story. A lot of fans felt betrayed that TR actually went exclusive, let alone for a year. The series has been multiplatform for a long time now and for it just go exclusive threw some for a loop. I really didn't care if it was an exclusive or not, I didn't have time to play it at the time, but I felt bad for the fans who wanted to. Inside was exclusive for about a month, the hype is still there. The point is, that length of absence makes a difference. So TR is $40 or $20? Cause I just checked and that thing is $60 on gamestop.com. If you know of a place that has it for $40, pass along the link that's a great price for that game.

ShowanW2804d ago

Looks like Jonathan Blow finally caved and decided to release on Xbox...

I guess this is the only way to recoup some of the money lost on all those pirated PC copies... LOL

MasterCornholio2804d ago

He sold plenty of copies on PS4 though. I guess he just wanted to increase his income after the deal expired with Sony.

freshslicepizza2804d ago

The timed console exclusive deal likely ended

rainslacker2804d ago

Wasn't it not too long after the release of the game that he said he was going to look into the possibility of releasing it on Xbox One? Seemed to make it seem it's limited release was due to the small team, although it probably is some deal brokered with Sony for exclusive console rights.

Yep, he caved back on Jan 30th.

freshslicepizza2803d ago

small team or not it doesn't take 9 months to port a game like this to the xbox one

rainslacker2803d ago

Never said it did. OP said that he caved and finally decided to port it. However, he said he was looking into that back at the beginning of the year.

callahan092804d ago

Love this game. It's my game of the year still, although Dark Souls 3 is a close second.

MasterCornholio2804d ago

I agree that it's a great game.

:)

But it does make you feel stupid sometimes.

Christopher2804d ago

I had totally forgotten about this game. It was too expensive for what it offered at release for me. I'll have to see if it's dropped in price.

Congrats to gamers for more games going more places.

MasterCornholio2804d ago

Pretty sure the price will drop for it. Maybe shortly after its launch on Xbox.

KiwiViper852804d ago

Absolutely, I will also like to trade Abzu in return for RotTR. Deal?

Garry's Mod Removing All Nintendo Content From Steam Workshop After Takedown Request

The developer of Garry's Mod has announced it is in the process of removing all Nintendo-related content from Steam Workshop after receiving a takedown request from Nintendo.

gurp2d ago

first emulation, now this
even though I don't play Garry's Mod, it is still bad

Inverno2d ago

I was reading it's all just false reports from a troll who's done things like this in the past and not Nintendo themselves.

-Foxtrot2d ago

Well the games creator Gary Newman confirmed it himself on Twitter.

Inverno1d 18h ago

Seems that's still being debated.
