Dead Rising 4 Pre-Order Bonuses are Just as Crazy as the Game Itself

The pre-order bonuses for Dead Rising 4 are appropriately over the top.

This would be on my radar if it wasn't for Days Gone. I bought Dead Rising 3 at launch and it was a decent game. Dead Rising 4 looks fun but Days Gone is overshadowing it. Days Gone is just fresh and new is mainly why.

Nice attempt at what? I bought an X1 at launch, a PS4 six months later. I bought Dead Rising 3 at launch. Did I not show my loyalty to Microsoft when I paid $499.99 for the console at launch then $150 for a 4 TB HDD later? Go beat your Microsoft pudd on your own time. Didn't say one thing bad about the X1 except for its purest on here.

Dead Rising 3 was an okay game. There is nothing wrong with it. I have played the series since the original. So something new sounds pretty good.

Dead Rising will come out THIS year, while you have to wait at least 1 more year for Days Gone. So you only get 1 Game per gen?

They don't seem similar at all... seems like you are just going out of your way to promote a random PS4 game. Pretty sad.

That said, I actually prefer the fun-loving over the top costumes, weapons and coop of this game rather than a survival sim if forced to compare the two.

I've played the series since the original. So a new series that's open world zombies sounds pretty good to me. Its okay to be more interested in a game then another like it, right? I own both consoles.......I guess I need to get under the desk of Microsoft and start tightening those bolts up to show I love my X1. :)

The console war is over. The only ones still in it are you purest. I manned up and bought both consoles years ago. You should do the same.

Outside of them having zombie and large amounts on screen at a time, they seem at the complete opposite ends of the spectrum to each other, with DR being wacky and over the top, letting you charge a horde of zombies, killing dozens in a single swipe with crazy weapons, and Days Gone being more grounded and realistic and being about avoiding the horde at all cost.

I've played the entire Dead Rising series since the original. Something new and fresh sounds pretty good. I'm sure the games are very different though. The first time I saw Dead Rising 4 I thought it looked decent. But then I say Days Gone and was like " What was that ", " A new IP ", " its open world zomies too ".

If Dead Rising 4 was the first in the series for me, nine times out of ten its overshadowing Days Gone. But since I've played the series since the original Days Gone is looking pretty good right now. Just think of it like the guys that's played Assassin's Creed series since the original. When they hear about a new Assassin's Creed game..........their not jumping for joy for the new game to say the least. LOL.

I'm sure both will be great games. I forgot the console war must still be around. Some Microsoft guys still out there that feelings get hurt at the drop of a hat. Not you though bud. At least you just wanted to conversate instead of just "getting your feelings hurt". They need to get over the war sometime. I guess today isn't that day. LOL.

Days Gone in its demonstration looked like a generic Zombie TPS game. Nothing original, let alone breathtaking you must be easily impressed.

I hope I am wrong but what we know and have seen don't do much more the game to pretend it's quality and hype overshadows DR4. Heck most people were disappointed it was a generic looking Zombie game that did nothing new and some how was the end filler of Sony's showing.

But yeah... killer hype that is just making DR4 seem irrelevant.

So when someone releases a new IP it already lacks originality? But I should be pumped up more for Dead Rising 4 even though I own every game since the original? Some are really stretching on this one, LOL. For me its: Dead Rising 4 = will be fun as usual, but a reskin to me most likely. Day's Gone = new, fresh, something we've never seen before. To argue and say I should think other wise..........your just stretching and sound insecure with what platform your playing on. Man up and buy both consoles and let the console war just die. If Microsoft comes out with a new zombie open world IP I'm interested. It just happened to be Sony this time.

I'm getting Dead Rising 4 down the road when they have a "Complete" version. With Dead Rising 3 I paid $59.99 and I bought the season pass which I think was $29.99. I just don't feel like dropping that kind of money at launch. I can wait this time around. At the time though DR3 was one of the only X1 games you could buy at launch. So of course I got it. It was a good game and the DLC was decent.

Can we go back to the semi realistic tone of Dead Rising 1? Ever since Dead Rising 2 came this game has became a Saints Row version of itself.

Bring back the challenge that this franchise has been lacking since Dead Rising 1.

Semi realistic tone? I don't think DR1 ever had that. It was always over the top and insane.

Well yes semi realistic tone. You can craft these op weapons and feel like a god at a early level. The best guns in the game that were game changers were behind objectives.

DR2 - You can craft a lightsaber
DR1 - You had to survive 5 days on the hardest difficulty with NO saving... ( Basically around 12 hours of real time to get )

Mega Man Buster - Took 53,594 zombie kills to get. It isn't as easy as you think. Dead Rising 1 only had 1 area that had a decent amount of zombies to complete the challenge in 3 days and it took hours of grinding.

These weapons were also not apart of the core gameplay meaning the game wasn't really design for you to use them unlike newer Dead Rising games.
