Ranking the Final Fantasy games - worst to best.
Looking back at Final Fantasy 6 on its 30th anniversary provides a snapshot of one of gaming's most important franchises at a pivotal turning point.
Gary Green said: It’s interesting to revisit the roots of your favorite franchises to see first-hand what’s changed and what’s stuck around all these years, though perhaps ‘visit’ would be more accurate than ‘revisit’ since apparently, Europe wasn’t worthy of the original six Final Fantasy games the first time around. By the time we started getting ports of these iconic games, we’d already been through the PSOne JRPG golden age. So we’d already seen the best of what Final Fantasy had to offer, while these predecessors looked outdated, unrefined, and (dare I say it) ugly. We aren’t bitter about the delayed releases, honest…
I'd love to but square said fk you to the ps fanbase that wanted these physically. Meanwhile switch got a physical release.
Discover the top 10 hottest Final Fantasy characters, from iconic heroes to memorable allies. Dive into their captivating stories and traits.
I always go Yuna, Aerith, Rikku, Rinoa, and for some reason Vanilla, Ashe, Cindy, Lunafreya, Quistis
FFVIII - "Yet the improved graphics, excellent soundtrack and brilliant Triple Triad side game offer enough variety to rise above the more harsh complaints"
You mean nit picks...basically because it wasn't just like FF7 and not a direct sequel. Most of the so called "complaints" are exgerated. Take the Draw system, you don't have to draw anything in battle you can find draw points, refine items, use magic items and refine cards.
FFIX... Ouch. FFIX had by far the most likeable cast of characters in the entire franchise. The visuals were also the best of any PS1 FF game. Realism is not all that matters in visuals. The artistic style of FFIX was far better than VII or VIII.
I can't take any list seriously that places IX that low.
And VI is overrated.
My top 3 FF games are X,XIII & VIII my least 3 are XIII-2,XIII-3 & IX.
People love to worship FF6, but the whole "find every decent character after the world is ruined" mechanic is bullcrap.
So tired of people just ignoring that HUGE downfall as if its just a minor inconvenience. The gameplay isn't especially fun and the random encounter count is high. FF6 doesn't deserve to be the "best" Final Fantasy.
