I hope they'll choose to activate cross-play

Garethvk2828d ago

They need to. I tried to play it on PC a few months ao and it was so dated and buggy. When it wenrt free to play, the quality got worse.

BrianOBlivion2828d ago (Edited 2828d ago )

Dated and buggy indeed. That first shot of the ship's bridge is either the size of a concert hall or the starfleet staff are about 20cm tall.

Ashlen2828d ago (Edited 2828d ago )

I'll give you dated when compared to modern PC mmo's. And I'll agree it has bugs and that it takes them far to long to fix them if they even try. But to say it got worse when it went free to play is really incorrect. Before it went f2p there was barely any content and the content there was, was so bad most of it has since been removed or completely remade. I have to guess that you think most of the things in the game existed back then even though they actually didn't. I am also going to assume you haven't really played it much at all and that statement is just rhetoric.

Ashlen2828d ago (Edited 2828d ago )

They have already stated that's not going to happen. It will be just like Neverwinter with delayed patches.

Mulando2828d ago

I need that on xbox. Than I will again start using my "lifetime"-account ... well after all those years :)

Ashlen2828d ago

The account's do not transfer in anyway. If they even offer lifetime on consoles which I kind of doubt they will you will have to buy it again.

Garethvk2828d ago

I played since launch. While there is more content now it is to me less playable than at launch.

Ashlen2828d ago

I'm guessing this was a reply to me. And your entitled to your own opinion of course. But I don't think many people would agree with you.

I mean at launch there wasn't even enough story content to make it to max level people had to farm the same very limited number of encounters over and over. There were very few queued events. The story was a hastily put together mishmash. Klingons didn't even have content for the first 25 levels there were no Romulans. No Duty Officers no Admiralty System no reputations no Episodes no gear sets no Shooter Mode. So few people played the game it was literally going to be shut down. It was one of the lowest rated MMO's back then not that it's winning any awards now but it's at least respected.

PutridPlop2828d ago (Edited 2828d ago )

I played the shit outa this game back when it first launched I was also a part of the closed Beta, spent some money on it as well. Like every MMO I got burnt out but recently decided to give it another go but found it to be a bit of a confusing mess to set up my keybinds and personal preferences this time around for some reason and lost interest. I will definitely check this out on my XB1 though.

Ashlen2828d ago

If your interested this program will create keybinds for you, it's very easy to use.

Janeway Comes To Star Trek Online: Shadow’s Advance

Fans are getting their Janeway fix with the latest update. Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a leading publisher of online games, and Cryptic Studios announced Captain Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager will make her Star Trek Online debut in Shadow’s Advance.

Was never really a big Voyager fan I did watch it they reused a lot of the same story arcs time travel, slip stream, the borg, thrown closer to home. Best aliens I like that were introduced in the series were the Hirogen would love to see the Klingons take them on in a war.

Garethvk835d ago

The big issue was it was hard to have any consistency as you knew they were not going to mysteriously get home and Villains had to be infrequent as they were going through their space and would in time be out of range of their influence. There was a plan for the ship to get home via a new technology early in a mid season and then have them go to and from the Delta Quadrant and Federation as the story needed but that was nixed. I think not showing what happened when they actually set foot on Earth was a huge issue. I am hoping Picard addresses it.

Knightofelemia835d ago

There were plans to show a few episodes of what happened to the Voyager crew once they came back to the Alpha Quadrant but that fell through. Voyager was ok but it's not TNG or DS9 those two series I liked Enterprise with Scott Bakula was good I could never get into the Captain Kirk Star Trek that was before my time.

Garethvk835d ago

DS9 was great. I have not been able to get into Discovery. I do not like the characters or stories. I do not expect Xmas lights but the fact that it is 10 years before Kirk yet the ship is so much more advanced even before they went into time has not worked for me. Mainly dislike the characters. Prodigy lost me at the first episode but Lower Decks has grown on me and I have liked Picard.
