I really don't have an issue with the design of any of the consoles. The size is irrelevant for me since both my PS4 and Xbox One are enclosed in my entertainment centers anyway. The enclosed power brick is a nice addition though.

Coming off the 360 and 360 slim there really shouldn't have been a reason for the very bulky, big box look of the Xbox One. MS should have went with this or a similar design for their new Xbox from the very beginning.

Well this is odd. The 2tb xbox one slim has only reached a position as high as number 62 on Amazon.co.uk. That isn't really that good at all.

Consider that the nintendo mini is at position 3 and that doesn't come out until November.

What good games are missing on the Xbox One? I'm not sure why you feel quality software is missing from the system. Owning both a PS4 and Xbox One, I'm not seeing a disparity in game quality between the two. If anything I have seen more quality exclusives on the WiiU, but I think we all know how much of an impact that has had on sales. Maybe you are just seeing what you want to see.

The playstation4 came out 2 weeks before the xbo but has over double the games and even more coming WITH A NEW FRANCHISE COMING IN A FEW WEEK to go along with the new franchises that already released...

Guerrilla games is also making Horizon zero Dawn, Sucker Punch is confirmed to be making a new IP, naughty dog did not make Uncharted the generation before last and their new intellectual property is the last of us while also working on a brand new intellectual property.....

Soooo no one is saying do not work on established franchises merely that we do not need every generation with the same franchise 4x.

Horizon zero Dawn is not killzone, Driveclub is not MotorStorm, dream is not Little Big Planet etc.

I'm pretty sure 343 could still make a brand new IP while also making Halo 5 and 6 we just do not need 7 and 8 and basically an entire generation with a single team making a single intellectual property like Overkill.

Scorpio doesn't need to dominate the market to be a great console. Last gen the Wii dominated the entire gen. Was it the best console? I suspect the Neo will be the best console for Playstation fans and Scorpio will be the best console for Xbox fans. As for PS3 outselling the Xbox 360 month after month and then catching the 360 in the end, Sony owned 75% of the market the two generation prior to catching up to a competitor that they outsold by 6:1 the generation before and they never caught the other. @ exrermin8or...Japan is becoming more and more of a non issue with consoles. That market isn't nearly as dominant as it once was. It is still relevant but is not needed for global success. Again, this gen showed that many gamers could care less about brand loyalty as was shown when many who left Sony for the 360 eventually went to the PS4 over X1. All because of increased overall power. That trend will most likely hold true when a weaker Neo has to go against the Scorpio. No one can completely predict the future but if past buying habits hold true whichever console plays COD (example) the best will win out.

With the exception of its second year on sale the Ps3 outsold the 360 every year it was on sale worldwide. As of December 2013 the Ps3 had 80 million sold and although there isn't a date it would appear to also be December 2013 360 had 84 million sold. Based on the drop off rates in sales the ps3 has almost certainly exceeded it. If you consider that the ps3 was on sale for a year less (year and a half less in the eu) than the 360. It means on average it sold at a faster rate. And should have sold more in their total lifespan as both last j checked were still manufacturer and selling.

But power isn't why the ps4 sold more it was history,support,price and the brand. History has literally shown for the last three generations power has never mattered starting with the ps1 outselling the n64, the ps2 outselling the Xbox and GameCube and the wii outselling the ps3 and 360. Now I do believe it will sell well for Microsoft but getting dominant market share no I just don't see that happening. Honestly the only time 360 outsold a ps system was last Gen and that was more a fluke and Sony helping them out a ton than anything the 360 did

While we don't know the quantity available on the first place, it looks like current Xbox owners will likely pick up the Xbox one S console. I expect the same thing to happen when the NEO releases. I also expect it to be sold out in a few minutes months before launch just like PSVR.

Exactly. It's a dumb way to look at things. When my store launched the PS4 we had almost 500 units at launch. During Destiny we had 350 PS4 bundles stocked for launch. You know how many Xbox One S I have for launch tuesday? 12. Yeah you heard me 12. The busiest store in the city and during Boxing Day or Black Friday, we are number 2 and 1 in the country. High volume store and we got 12. All that we got are just replacing old stock. That is all. We probably be sell out due to demand and half of them being preordered. It's NOT a changing moment or momentum.

Have people forgotten the the S replaces the original fat? The Scorpio is not going to be for all gamers, and it isore than a year away so the S was a great move by MS, going forward. They get their costs down, fix some design issues, so I am optimistic about the S.

You can't get one from Amazon so they are sold out regardless of their position. If it's a flop because you can't buy it, then you win. I just finished setting it up and updating it. The console is absolutely beautifully designed, and it looks great beside my UC4 PS4, providing a nice contrast. I'm pleased to say that thus far it seems to have retained it quietness. I was a bit shocked by just how much smaller it is. For anyone looking to see a comparison of the two consoles in vertical alignment, you can check out my Facebook. My name is Matthew Prescott. They did a great job designing the stand as well. It snaps in nicely, and really adds to the aesthetics of the console. Most importantly, though, I absolutely love going into the display settings and seeing a check mark beside every listed 4k/HDR gaming/video feature showing that my tv supports it all. It's a beautiful thing seeing 2160p on my tv screen when I switch to the HDMI input that my Xbox is using, and I knew that the recent article about the guy getting his early and having no 4k option wasn't going to the case after the official launch. All of the UHD/HDR settings are in place now, and ready to go. I'm unbelievably pumped right now. Time to watch some Marco Polo on Netflix in 4k/HDR.
