Transparency communication can do wonders when developing a game. Its a wonder devs dont use it. Then they wonder why fans get up in arms about things.
Transparency is a double edge sword. show too much and your game is dead before it gets released, show too little and the rumormill can kill it just as fast.
I think their actual development ability is a more powerfull tooll yes? They can hide or show whatever they want but when the game eventually comes out there are plenty of ways for knowing if it sucks ass.
