Let's just cut what little exercise people get, it's not like obesity is rampant lol. This makes the game as pointless as getting a sports tracker and keeping it on the dryer.

I like the walking bits, but walking doesn't really get you anything more than people who can sit between two or three pokestops with lures all day moving absolutely nowhere the whole time.

Perhaps if the game was focused on a system of rewarding people for moving, it would have some merit. But, right now, the game gives preference to people who live in or have easy access to high population areas and can just sit and capture pokemon all day while getting pokeballs from nearby stops.

Experiencing the game for what it's supposed to be is what makes the game what it is. It's the whole point of games to be honest. If you're not committed to be immersed into the game, then you will never truly enjoy it.

Yes it does target high population so lets hope that changes. I know that I don't get nowhere near the rare pokemon where I am compared to down town, but I still get some interesting pokemon:)

Much much easier way... use Nox or Bluestack and just play it from your pc lol.

Thank you Christopher and NyQuil, I installed Nox (quite iffy with the firewall and antivirus but I bypassed it) and the pokemon apk. The virtual gps and walking wasd mechanics on the app took some getting used to (I figured using the in game compass north as W, east as D, south as S and west as A and it works well) and it sorted everything.

Maybe I will use this or one pc controls to get some pokestops since im in the middle of no where.

I have to agree. Having some money left in the store i bought a few items. While using the lure i got more Pokemons than walking around. It's not really a flaw in game design. It reminds me of the Freemium isn't free South Park episode.You do get better things from hatching eggs.In general i don't like these kind of models where the incentive to make progress is within a premium fee.All that aside the game does make younger kids go out more often.

i'm not into pokemon go (mostly because i dont have internet on my phone, whatever that service is called, but i dont think i would play even if i had), but i downloaded pokeradar just to check out what pokemons i have around my city and jeez... just three pokemons together on one point and i probably had to catch two different bus(es?) to get there! When i downloaded the game on the day it came out, i only saw a gym far far away and no pokemon! (luckily i live on a pokestop, but as i said, i dont like the game)

the only real way it's going to get a ban is if someone incorrectly configures the virtual gps from sydney to their location whilst the pokemon go app is open. even then it's initially going to only be a 'soft ban' which is only around 40 minutes unable to move your in game player. but if it happens many times then a permaban is likely.
