TeamXbox writes: "Ever since EA Sport's Fight Night franchise raised the bar for the boxing genre, it's been nearly impossible for any other contenders to find their footing in the ring-just ask Don King's Prizefighter. So it comes as little surprise that the latest pugilistic package is much less a serious boxing simulator than a cartoony, over-the-top brawler. EA Canada, the same fight-loving folks responsible for Fight Night, are apparently looking to dominate all corners of the ring with the release of Facebreaker; an effort their hoping will appeal to the demographic more impressed by the arcadey antics of old school faves like Mike Tyson's Punch Out, rather than the ultra-realistic strategizing of their analog stick-controlled sim.
As a fan of boxing games, especially those allowing me to bash a few buttons (I'm still not convinced Total Punch Control is the second coming), I welcome any new entry with open arms and gloves on. Hell, I even enjoyed 2K's aforementioned hype man-endorsed effort more than most critics. And the prospect of reliving the buzz I enjoyed when finally reaching Iron Mike in the NES classic, had me especially psyched to lace up my gloves for Facebreaker."
The ultimate reason is both shocking and disgusting.
