Hopefully it will be good. Looking forward to a solid Star Wars game like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

I have full faith in Visceral Games to make an incredible Star Wars game. It's about damn time we get to have a single player game set in that universe that actually has a talented team behind it's development.

kevnb2865d ago

I'm hoping for something way better than that...

badz1492865d ago

"similar to Uncharted" ha?

sounds to me like they want to ride the high wave of Uncharted's positives to make people interested.

Fullmetalevolust2865d ago

I loved the The Force Unleashed, what wonderful story telling that was. Wish they'd remake it in HD.

I hope its not just Uncharted with Star Wars coating. I would love to see something more along the lines of Mass Effect 2, something more open.

Ripsta7th2865d ago

Mass effect 1 had more exploration and rpg elements than 2 and 3

Kreisen2865d ago

Thats is true but they said it wont be a full on open-world game which is why i gave ME2 as an example :D

jb2272865d ago

Not me....there will no doubt be an open RPG SW game coming, isn't Bioware or Jade Raymond confirmed to be working on their own title? Then there's a possibility for Respawn's title being something along those lines.

Uncharted w/ Star Wars coating sounds delicious to me. Just like Hennig said, she wants to create a playable SW film, which is something we've never really had before.

There can be both games for sure, but I'm fairly sure that Hennig & Visceral are not the team to make anything along the lines of ME, you'd want Bioware themselves for that. Hennig has never penned an RPG, she is the master of Uncharted type Action Adventure narrative experiences, and Visceral are right in the same vein w/ something like Dead Space. Not every game needs to be open, and this one esp. would most likely suffer for going that route as it isn't the creators' forte.

Sam Fisher2865d ago

Wait for kotor, bioware is gonna work on it sooner or later

rainslacker2865d ago

Creative process is just the way they go about designing the game. It doesn't really imply that the game is being made to be like another game. Every studio has their own creative process, and it starts in pre-production, and goes all the way through the updates that the game receives.

Given that ND delivers some high quality games with compelling game play and stories, I'd say their creative process is probably a good one to mimic if someone wants to make a high quality game with compelling game play and stories.

Dirtnapstor2864d ago (Edited 2864d ago )

It shouldn't be. The only correlating thing said with the Uncharted series only had to do with her process for dissecting imagery and creating a narrative around said imagery.

If anyone could get me into Star Wars it's her.

Notellin2865d ago

Considering all the talent behind the previous star wars works including the video games, I seriously doubt Amy Hennig's work will change your mind.

Skankinruby2865d ago (Edited 2865d ago )

Alright I'm listening. Leaving naughty dog was a very bold move but if it's to make a solid star wars game then it was for a good cause. Please give a star wars game actually worth playing, something I haven't seen in years.

F*** AI

"Hey Copilot, what's a good meme to prove I dislike AI".... https://giphy.com/clips/sou...

Einhander19721d 7h ago

Two trillion dollar company that just can't wait to put as many people possible out of work as fast as possible.

It feels like every single thing they do is making gaming worse and destroying the industry.

....you know it takes people to program the AI.... right? It isnt like it is sentient. We haven't reach skynet level of situation or anywhere close to the matrix just yet.

That's next Thursday.

Einhander19723h ago(Edited 3h ago)

It takes a people to program the AI then that AI is used for who knows how many games eliminating countless jobs which only grows as AI is used for more and more game creation functions.

What you're saying is so ridiculously short sighted and truly larking any kind of understanding and foresight.

Why all the hate? Im actually excited about this! Always wanted this kind of immersion, and an AI companion with me all the time helping me out knowing the status of my skills/inventory/progress and giving me tips on the best approach or how to craft something specific is game changing for the industry.

Hate all you want about AI, but this is just the start and I can see the potential already. You wont be complaining in the next 5-10 years about this, but rather complain if a game hasn’t implemented it.

MrDead19h ago

Yes we can't wait for the work of others to be used without the need to pay them so that MS can profit even more from the people they fire.

I_am_Batman19h ago(Edited 19h ago)

There is no chance I'd ever use something like this, especially if it's not part of the core game design, but a layer on top of it. It's way too much handholding. Many games already feel like busy work, because they don't let the player figure things out on their own. Having a real-time interactive guide defeats the purpose of playing the game in the first place in my opinion.

If this were to become the standard like you predict, we'll see more and more video games get away with bad design, because people will just be used to ask for help from the AI companion anyway.

Number1TailzFan18h ago

Well Nintendo don't need this with some of their games these days, with invincible characters, items, easy bosses etc.. they do the hand holding built in

helicoptergirl19h ago

Takes "hand holding" in games to a whole new level.
