I hope Bethesda iron out all the ps4's MOD SUPPORT probs on Fallout 4 before they release Skyrim remastered on Ps4. Like memory usage for "heavy textures" and performance issues and it's proprietary sound format, and worst of all, it's 900mb mod storage limit, which is to say the least, TO ME, an embarrassment to the hardware capability of the PS4.

Dragonking0072853d ago

Curious how much of that will be similar to on the ps4 neo.... which suppose to be 4k capable console where they should have even less excuses...

Ysmir67232852d ago

480 is slower than the 970...and with the really weak cpu,no 4k.

GrimmyReaper2853d ago

Really though, if you wanna heavily mod your game, go with the PC version.
There are mods out there that are like full DLC packs
A team made Elsweyr with quests and stuff or a guy made a whole new land with a storyline and quests.
And thats the tip of the iceberg

SoulMikeY2853d ago

People play on consoles because it's affordable. I would love to own a pc, but it better be like ridiculously powerful. And that could cost upwards of $2000.00. So people can't just "go with the pc version".

GrimmyReaper2852d ago (Edited 2852d ago )

@SoulMikey
Wohoho, your ignorance gets you those dislikes you know?
I bought a 1000 dollar pc about a year and a half ago. Including screen, keyboard and mouse.
This same pc can run anything at max settings at 60fps at 1080p

The difference lies in games. If you only play say, 5 games, the console is indeed cheaper.
But more and those prices are soon switched.

Not only can the pc do everything, it plays games better 99% of the time. Even pc's of 400 euros far outperform the consoles and those can handle modding way better as well.

Where I live, new games cost 65 or 60 euro for the PS4 games
On PC, anything goes with steam and G2A. While Witcher 3 was still 60 euros on console, I got it for pc with season pass for 20 euro's.

This is not trying to sound like a "pc master race" guy, I hate people that do that. This is me explaining that your ignorance get's you those dislikes. PC is a long term investment.

You can also see it like this. It would only take 16 games on the PS4 for me to get another pc and this is me counting out a ps4. With it? It would be around 10 games and a PS4 = a strong ass PC.

Even with no bought games, PC offers a lot of great free games

@SoulMikeY

Yeah, no. You don't know what you're talking about, you can easily build a gaming PC for 600 that'll outperform current consoles.

http://pcpartpicker.com/lis... $400 build (performs moderately better than the PS4/Xbox)
http://pcpartpicker.com/lis... $600 build (performs significantly better than the PS4/Xbox)

So clearly the cost is not overly ridiculous, the only thing that is somewhat hard is building the PC, which can be intimidating. If you wanted to own a PC you can easily save up some money for one of these builds, the only time you would be spending near $2000 is if you're getting a top of the line i7 processor with two GTX 1080s in SLI (or a similar build) and that build would not be even comparable to current consoles or Neo/Scorpio so it is far from necessary to get an enjoyable experience.

SoulMikeY2853d ago

Capability of the ps4 huh? You must've forgot, this is the generation where anything Xbox can do, ps4 can do better. This speaks about the developers priorities more than anything. If you haven't noticed, Bethesda tends to try harder for Microsoft.
This is the fault of developers, not the easier, more powerful console. It's funny how this is the first time issues arrive in the name of "ps4", and not the buggiest developers known to mankind... funny how people all of the sudden forgot that...

Ysmir67232852d ago

The ps4 is not hardware capable. It is slower than a 2010 pc.

UnHoly_One2852d ago (Edited 2852d ago )

You know that the mod size limit is set by Sony, right?

They chose that limit, which is about half of the XB1 limit. Not really sure why.

BattleAxe2853d ago

I bet they're just porting over the PC version on high settings.

kingdom182852d ago

They've added some things supposedly and it is also a 64-bit program now too which will help it crash a lot less.

Ysmir67232852d ago

Thats extremely easy to run.

I really hope they fixed the faces and how they look when you create them, because in the original it was just very difficult to make them look appealing.

Todd Howard Has No Plans to Retire, Open to Other Studios Making Fallout Games

In a recent interview, Todd Howard revealed that he has no plans to retire and reiterated Bethesda's openness to help from other studios.

DOMination-1d 21h ago

Oh great, now we have to deal with Anasts Bethesda fetish indefinitely.

Thanks a lot, Todd

anast1d 18h ago

You're welcome for the free entertainment. Usually, it comes at a cost of $70 because of inflation.

Crows901d 18h ago

That's an inflated price...

anast1d 18h ago (Edited 1d 18h ago )

@Crows

It would be if it weren't a valuable resource.

mastershredder1d 20h ago

"with no plans to retire anytime soon" I mean this is like a common news topic involving his name. Knock it off and do some actual newsing. This is like the biggest "No Duh" article of the day, and several sites had to regurgitate it. Geez. So lame.

This is when he'll retire.

He doesn't have to retire, just the stupid outdated garbage creation engine.

Netimmerse 4.0, presumably 5.0 for TES6. They should give the Fallout IP to Obsidian, and have it made in UE5.
