The PlayStation VR Games Boxarts/Prices Finally Revealed

Better late than never? The Playstation VR is coming in just a few months, and most of us at PlayStation Insider have already pre-ordered the system and have been eagerly awaiting games.  Well thanks to the Amazon update this morning we have not only the list of games around launch, but how much they cost.

Batman VR is on my list

Batman Arkham VR should NOT be 20 dollars, that's insane. It's already been said that it's only a 1 hour experience with 2 small scenarios in it. 1 scenario is you as Bruce Wayne, going down into the Batcave to get dressed up as Batman. You put on the entire suit piece by piece, throw your baterangs around and stuff etc. And the second scenario is where you are in the city solving a murder by finding clues at the murder scene. That's it, and while it sounds super immersive and fun, way too high at 20 dollars if that's true. Should be 5, maybe 10 dollars at the most.

If it's too expensive for you then don't buy it or wait for a discount.
There are other games to get its not like batman is the only one.
This is kind of a tech demo like motorstorm 3d rift back then. I played that so much i loved the 3d effect in it and each one of my guests loved it.

How immersive is it?

You're not judging its worth by comparing it to videogames are you?

Some people spend more than $20 on little plastic figures of game characters that have zero hours of gameplay.

There is also a rumored batmobile section and other stuff that has yet to be announced. That lenght of an hour you claim it has is also just a rumor and based on e3 Demos but the developers said it will be 1 1/2h - 2h. Let's say it compares more to a movie experience and I hope it orientates on said dramatic Standarts of a movie.

It's far from a 1-hour experience, I don't know where you're getting your information. But even the E3 demo which is UNFINISHED has about two missions which are an hour each.

How about the part where you interact with Penguin? Rocksteady said the main story is 90 min with about 2 and a half hrs of gameplay overall. Rocksteady developed this, it's VR, you can't quantify value with hrs of gameplay. VR is a different animal.

If u think they've shown the entire game at these shows, ur dead wrong.

The market dictates the price . If people want it for 20 they buy it of not the price will be lower. If you want to pay less wait for a sale. Telling a vendor what they should price something is pointless

They are affordable, some of them at 19.99. makes me wonder about the length of the game and the content. But Im certain some of them will have replay value.

You may want to temper your expectations a little. All the PSVR games I've seen are short experiences or arcade-like games.

If batman vr is like a 3hr game I think it's worth $20. I just wanted a full batman game.
From what I seen on videos and reviews the vr experiences look pretty cool and that's why I'm excited.
But I get what you are saying.

Haven't ordered yet, but I think it looks cool. I've been hoping VR would come out ever since Sega promised it in the 90s :)
I tried it (PSVR) briefly at Best Buy and enjoyed the underwater one with the shark. But it was just a 4 minute demo that you don't even interact with (but nonetheless a part of the VR Worlds disc that costs money). So maybe they'll put out longer experiences eventually (or games like Rigs will have a lot of replay value since they're multiplayer?) but most of the launch stuff seems short and demo-like or arcade-y.

One issue with length is that a player is cut off from the world and may miss important things -- anyone trying to contact him, get his attention, an emergency. Another issue is the feeling of nausea but hopefully that isn't a problem for most people & with most games.

These are all basically tech demos to show the potential of VR. I'll be waiting about a year or two until full games are released.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there. I was at SCEE HQ in London last summer playingHeist and The Deep and they blew me away but they are also a different type of game. A shame to consider them throw away experiences but that's kind of what they are. We're about to embark an exploring how to deliver a new form of entertainment on a mass consumer scale and there will be a lot to learn over the coming years...

You fail to mention the 3 other games that London Studios worked on, and that will be offered in VR Worlds. The Deep and London Heist may not have great replay value, but the 3 other games surely do. This is why VR Worlds is such a nice mix.

We have immersive sp experiences like Robinson the Journey and we have mp shooters like Rigs. We have a short, intense game like Batman VR and we have a game with hundreds of hrs of gameplay like GT Sport. VR has plenty of varied experiences ranging from "throw away" to addictive replay value.

Yeah, I'm not rushing out to get it either. I'll probably get the PS4 NEO before I get the PSVR anyways. I'm not rushing to get that either. If all works out I'll have the PS4 Neo nest year around Sept. Then get the Scorpio in Spring of 2017 and then the PSVR after that if it's successful and has lots of games I want to play.

ps4neo before psvr, i'm confused. maybe its just me, but i look for experiences rather than potential for shiny new graphics. Do you have a 4k tv? if not then why ps4 neo?

PSVR games will perform better on the PS4 Neo. Even regular PS4 games will most likely run and look better with the PS4 Neo. By the time I get the PSVR, I probably will have a 4K TV.

Honestly vr games are a secondary for me, and more content of all sorts will be released over the years. But the biggest draw for me (right now at least) is that non-3D vr can be used with all the media of the ps4 (including all the games). I dunno about anybosy else, but having an imax sized screen experience strapped to my face is something I am very much looking forward to. Plus no doubt that all the current and future 3D movies will perform flawlessly on the psvr for one hell if a 3d experience that most of us probably haven't witnessed yet.

Eve Valkyrie is trash, the gameplay is atrocious. Battlezone is more fun, makes better use of head movement, and has a much better cockpit.

Are you making this statement based on the Best Buy/Gamestop demos? The full version of Eve Valkyrie, which is already available on Rift and Vive has a singleplayer story mode, multiplayer modes such as team deathmatch and map control, and rpg elements such as unlockable customizations and upgrades for your ships.

From the demos yes Battlezone seems more fun to me, more faster paced, but I have no clue what the full game will be like, does it even have multiplayer?

I'm interested in both, definitely getting Eve Valkyrie, you should check out the EV videos on youtube from people that already have it on Rift and Vive. Especially check out this guy's videos, he usually finishes on first place in multiplayer: https://www.youtube.com/use...

For games like Rigs I really hope these developers put out demos for these games since this is all new hardware coming out that everyone is pretty new to experiencing I think it would be best if consumers got the ability to try out games that are $40 or more in the form of a demo.

I think the base and the bundle are both coming with a free demo disk, it'll probably have a demo of Riggs among others. The bundle also comes with Playstation VR Worlds which has 5 mini-games.

It has already succeeded. PSVR will only further that. You need to try VR before you call it a gimmick. How are so many people loving VR, including people who were originally skeptics? Because it's good. Very good. Check any gaming site. Everyone loves VR. You will, too.

Short? RIGS and EVE: Valkyrie are pretty big. Dreams? GT Sport? Ace Combat? Holoball is phenomenal, too, which will be there at launch. I don't understand your statement.
