Is Evolve Going Free-To-Play?

nah i will not be pissed, the game on pc its dead atm its a lost cause to try to get in a round to play online its a 40 euro loss other way so if free to play model revive this game im happy with that

Most of them already feel burnt from the lack of content, so this will just be icing on the cake. It's a shame too because Evolve had a lot of potential. If they would have added more monsters, game modes, maps, and skins that could be unlocked without spending real money on them, that would have been much better.

To those of you who played the game, why isn't there a monster vs. monster mode? Or a 2 vs. 2 monster arena? Why not? Or how about a game mode that pits one team 4 humans against another team of 4 humans? Why not?

Even without a story mode, they could have added soo much more content.

Why would the be pissed. The game is currently a ghost town. If they want to salvage some value out of the purchase, they should be happy to get new players into the mix.

i believe f2p will breathe some life into this, the only reason i didnt pick it up was because i didnt want to spend more than $10 on it.

I'm guessing the online playerbase numbers are abysmal combined with the overpriced dlc that no ones buying.

Most likely they're trying to salvage more money from ip and it will very much go free to play while still offering micro-transactions.

wont save it... 10 people will go back to it, 20 new people will find it and all of them will realize within a game either why they left or why no one still plays ... just the way it is, evolve was pretty shallow ... FTP wont save it... just beating a dead, decayed horse at this point ... should be focusing on making a new game IMO just a waste... plus they will throw in 4 million micro transactions im sure it will be lamesauced up

Even at that price, I have tons of other games in my backlog to play that I've just given up on ever giving it a go.

I bought the game multiple times but it is unplayable right now due to small player base and atrocious matchmaking. I wouldn't mind F2P if they FIX THE GODDAMN MATCHMAKING. Seriously, 30 minutes and still waiting for a single game. Shameful.

I would agree with you but last time I tried to play it, I had a full party of hunters queued up, just waiting for a monster to complete. Nothing. Tried the same thing as a monster. Nothing. Gave up after wasting an hour staring at the matchmaking screen.

Personally, the game should have been F2P. It had so much DLC, if you hadn't been told it cost money just for the game, people may have though it was indeed F2P. But, the game's lifetime has come and gone. Its time to move on from this mess and learn from our mistakes.

i have read some comments end it turns out only the beta will be on pc one of the comments was "Once we get through the Beta period on PC we'll be setting our sights on launching on all platforms. We don't want to forget anyone in our community, this was just the best way for us to move Evolve into the Free-To-Play space"

I wanted to like this game.. Played the beta and did not enjoy it.
I know it was a beta, but even if it had worked smoothly, I did not enjoy the gameplay. Just not my cup of tea.
