After just a brief examination of the upcoming expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online, it becomes apparent that developer Turbine is not into doing anything by half-measures. With a few "Book" updates already under the game's belt, LotRO has seen quite a bit of expansion, so the amount of content provided by a true retail expansion pack is unsurprisingly gigantic.
A lot of attention was paid a short time ago when an ex-Turbine developer dished some behind the scenes details of the company and their Tolkien-inspired mmo. MMO-Play analyzes these tidbits that were revealed as they peek behind the curtain at Lord of the Rings Online.
The work of J.R.R Tolkien is as popular as ever, the second movie in the trilogy involving our favorite “burglerobbit” Bilbo Baggins, had its premiere in the middle of December, and the MMORPG LotRO, based on the world of Middle-earth are still going strong. Though, during a recent event, Community Manager Rick Heaton confirmed that they will not release any new dungeons or raids in the near future.
