Mr. Cliffy should take a note out of Mr. Ted's book about how to sell your game properly and not look like a douche at the same time. Reminds me of a certain "japanese developer".

correct me if im wrong but...

- GoW 2 uses the same graphics engine as GoW 1.
- You have the same crew in Gow 2 as in GoW 1.
- The battle with the loctus takes place in the US in GoW 2 just as in GoW 1.
- 70% of your arsenal in GoW 2 works exactly the same as in GoW 1.
- Gow 2's cover system has not been expanded and also works exactly as in Gow 1.

For me it feels like they slaped a bunch of maps on GoW 1 and called it GoW 2. I'm sure fantasystar feels the same. Cliffy B has to prove us wrong.

actually they're using the new or better said well upgraded Unreal Engine and the game does look better.

People learn to optimize with time so please don't hate.

Resistance2 is also looking better than rfom even thou it was made with the same engine..

don't hate on games just cause they're on another console man... the game looks great.. and it has a lot of cool new things.. and it will sell a lot and it will be fun... that's the end of it.

- Gears doesn't even take place on earth
- Hammerburst changed completely, boomshot has less splash, longshot has no more one hit active downs, etc.
- Epic has said there have been something like 400+ tweaks I think. Much improved.

I'm soo glad I bought a Xbox360 instead of a PS3! We'll be able to play Gears 2 with 10 player multiplayer and 4 player co-op.

PS3 owners on the other hand, will get Resistance 2 with only 60 player multiplayer, 8 player co-op, along with self generating maps so they never look the same...

I'm very much looking forward to Gears of War 2... even if I think Cliff's an idiot. Luckily the interview didn't have too much of his ego at work. One thing he said though...

"We deliberately kept the story as a basic summer blockbuster, with the intention of delving deeper in the sequel."

Eh, that just sounds like an excuse any developer could use. "We here at Epic deliberately made the story in Gears 1 forgettable. We feel we shouldn't give the player too much at one time. That would just make it unfair to the competition amirite?!"

Before anyone thinks I'm hating on Gears... it has nothing to do with that. I don't even mind Epic. It's just Cliff and how hung up on himself he is.

Anyway, I don't really care if Gears of War 2's story isn't much better. Not the reason I or most people will be playing the game I'm sure. I'll still give them the benefit of the doubt... but I don't EXPECT them to bust out with an amazingly cinematic and gripping story.

Mass Effect and Bioshock both use Unreal Engine 3. I don't particularly like the engine myself... but those could definitely be considered AAA.

But I think you still need talented devs using the engine. It might be easy to work with but that doesn't mean it makes the game good on its own of course.

Mass effect was anything but finished game. I played it, and had fun, but damn if it wasn't a freaking slideshow with zero enemies on screen even.

Even Gears 1 wasn't flawless, but it ran a lot smoother.

What I want to know is why did they not make this game 4 player co-op? It seems like wasted potential to me.

Also I think CliffyB, in interviews, never gives direct answers. "Cool" and "Bad @ss" are not sufficient ways to articulate points.

I think Epic said 4 player would "mess" with the story and feel of the campaign. Also that playing became rather to hectic, which I can understand as there's not much room for 4 players in a "corridor" shooter like Gears. 2 player co-op is enough for me anyway, but 4 would of been nice.

I dont understant why people keep calling all the big titles 1.5 of the previous ones. It seems on N4G nothing can be great enough to just have a 2 behind it. Halo 2.5, Gears 1.5. WTF??

It does not have to be a huge leap. It is simply a continuation of the previous game. Basically just what happens next.

I know this is a sony site now so saying anything about a PS3 game is pure Blasphemy. But is God Of War 3 going to get the same treatment as all these ".5" games commin out? MGS4 was not re invented and that turned out just fine. If reviewers had your same attitudes then a whole hell of alot of games would fail for just being a simple 1.5 of the previous game. I think people are just to picky these days. Im sure gears will be fun. Just as the first one was.

I`m pretty sure what their talking about is mainly graphical advancements. Personally what I feel is disappointing about them both are the match sizes. 6v6, 5v5. I feel that merits a "1.5" more than anything. IMO, more so w/ Halo3. Halo3 would be GREAT w/ 32 player matches.

....bigger enemies, more variety of enemies, more weapons, a flamethrower, a vastly improved story AND great multiplayer which has been improved drastically over the already good first games multiplayer and IMHO it looks a lot better with vastly improved lighting and more detailed environments. What is not to like?! How can this not be called a fully fledged sequel?! I don't agree with people calling it 1.5. This game will be great, and i for one can't wait to get my hands on it this fall.

I am interested in reading what he had said about himself that clearly shows that he is so full of himself...eg. i know that there are plenty of rap songs where artists brag about the money they have, all the bling bling and the girls they get but i don't ever recall Cliff saying things like he is the best developer or he has all the money and gets all the hotties...i seem to have only read articles about him saying the game that his is working hard on is going to be bigger and more badass and that no other games will compare to this game... but i still have yet to read anything where he brags about himself...
