Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Features “Different Visuals” On NX But Same Experience

We all thought that this would be the case, but The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has told Tom Phillips at Eurogamer that the Nintendo NX version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be the same experience but will feature improved visuals.

Different visuals,... lol. Different image quality, probably.

wonderfulmonkeyman2884d ago

I would assume so, yeah, but either way, it's safe to assume improvement.

It'll also likely mean that there won't be many, if any, drops in framerate, if it's able to handle better visuals.

mad-dog2884d ago

Sure, i'm hoping for enough power to display the game at 1080P with some AA, better textures, shaders, etc. at a solid 30fps (or 60.. we can dream)
But by saying 'different visuals' there is too much room for misinterpretation.

Erik73572883d ago

I hope we get denser forest and more trees and sharper textures

darthv722883d ago

The game already looks stunning with it's art style. I can't imagine much of a change, as in the game will suddenly take on the more mature style of Horizon or anything. It may just be the fidelity of the finer details improving. All the little stuff that, when added up, amount to something noticeable.

wonderfulmonkeyman2884d ago

XD I think hoping for 1080P might be a stretch, considering their desire to keep framerate at at least a steady 30 fps, but better textures, shaders, etc, might be a fair bet.
I guess it'll depend on what the NX is capable of, in the end, but I'm keeping my expectations in check on this one by not expecting any drastic improvements.

Erik73572883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

Dude on the NX itll be 1080p and a stable 0fps for sure.

with better textures.

Granted its not significantly more powerful than a ps4 or xbox one but it is more powerful supposedly, just by a little.

wonderfulmonkeyman2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

@ Fries
If that's the case, then of course I'll be happy, but the key to judging it without emotion clogging my judgement, is to keep my expectations of it lowered.
That's why I won't assume it'll easily do 1080p until it shows it can.

BrandanT2883d ago

Fries, I don't think 0fps is hard to obtain.

WickedLester2883d ago

This game is not graphically intensive. It BETTER be 1080p/60fp on NX. Otherwise the NX hardware will be a joke.

EddieNX 2883d ago

It should be 1080p on NX and with all the other suggested improvements that people are saying. We could be in for a really amazing looking game on NX!

its an nx game now. the nx version is the one to get, the one where their actual vision for the game will be realised.

the wiiu version is just a consolation, and to be brutally honest- the graphics dont look impressive. the style is impressive, the scale is impressive, you can see the direction they are going for, but the execution (what you actually see on the screen) is not that good. just very normal looking.

on wiiu it looks little more impressive than skyward sword.

i think the nx version will be so superior that it will guarantee enough gamers will want to buy it on nx (along with the console) instead of the wiiu version.

this is OBVIOUSLY nintendo's plan, since they are delaying the game for the nx's release.

make no mistake, its a NX launch game now, with a functional wiiu port

Aquietguy2882d ago

Improved visuals. Not different

Moonman2882d ago

Good move for Nintendo!! You know the internet would have given them (as well as "da power" of the NX) pure hate if the visual experience remained the same on NX. Looks like if the NX version has great controls as well then it's the version l'll buy.

When is the NX coming out Nintendo? Quit wasting our time.

Zeldafan642883d ago

You'll be waiting a few more months to hear that I'm guessing.

conanlifts2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

They have previously stated production delays and anticipated release has moved back to 2nd quarter 2017.

conanlifts2882d ago (Edited 2882d ago )

The release date was updated with ebgames (gamestop) in australia as q2 2017.
I read an article about tgs being the likely unveiling. That makes sense as its their home turf. If i find the article i will link it.

Edit :- http://wccftech.com/report-...

Of course this is still speculation.

conanlifts2883d ago

They are said to be gearing up for it to be announced at tgs in September and an anticipated launch between April and June.

Care to share a source?

Metallox2882d ago

I thought Nintendo announced it. Still, time to time.

Sly-Lupin2882d ago

I have a feeling the NX is going to be a massively unappealing platform, if only for all those gamers who keep saying things like, "WiiU has so many great games--but I'm never going to buy one, so the NX better be BC!"

Between something that is good and something that might be good, why do so many people consistently prefer the latter to the former?

Metallox2883d ago

I'm hoping for improved level of detail, 1080p resolution, rock-solid frame rate, reduced popping, applied anti-aliasing and, if possible (or rather, if the dev team wants), improved textures. The build presented at E3 was quite underwhelming to say the least, and honestly, I think that only frame rate will be considerably better by release on Wii U.

Like I said, once I see what this new console is like Kw I'll buy an NX.
