I wouldn't say it's what everyone wanted but it's definitely something I wanted.

_-EDMIX-_2883d ago

Lol agreed. I really like the God of War series but I can't be the only one that is hated how one-dimensional Kratos character has been. I'm trilled to see this type of complexity thrown into his dynamic.

While it was being shown I even thought maybe it was just another brand new character that just looked similar ie Kratos in spirit lol.

riskyhand2883d ago

Agreed, that 7 minutes e3 demo made me care about him more than the previous 3 games ever did

DragonPaw2883d ago

I disagree. I loved the pure channeling of rage and violence that was Kratos. I never imagined him in the role of a father figure. I saw no path that led him to this. I only envisioned him destroying as he was destroyed. I am not saying that the narrative is bad but implying this is my dream Kratos is way the hell over the top.

No it hasn't. I'd like a Kratos actually voiced by a white actor this time.

nevin12883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

How can he go from a black to white voice actor? lol

Aloy-Boyfriend2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

Skin color

Big deal...

Huey_My_D_Long2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

Its annoying when anyone complains about skin color in games regardless of race.
Plus Terrance Carson was awesome in Living Single. I was happy to hear him again.
In GoW 1 -3 Carson is kratos

Inzo2883d ago

That was not Carson voicing Kratos.

Sunny_D2883d ago

Why does his voice matter? His voice actor works perfect for who Kratos is. If you want a white actor, go look for another protagonist.

IIFloodyII2883d ago (Edited 2882d ago )

You do know Kratos wasn't originally white, right? His white "skin" is the ashes of his dead family.

You can disagree, but it won't change the fact that Kratos isn't white, he's Mediterranean.

@Sunny_D

Ancient Greek people were considered Mediterranean, It's classified under caucasian sure, but it isn't specifically white coloured, they range from a pink to reddish to light or dark brown skin tone; olive being most common, Kratos, as my pic shown was more on the dark side. So his Voice actor's colour is more accurate than white would be/the super deep voice is perfect/why do people actually care?

But hey, at least you tried to argue, instead of just blindly disagreeing, I can respect that.

Sunny_D2882d ago

Kratos is Greek. Greek are still considered white even with their olive colored skin as they fall under the Caucasian family.

Ogygian2883d ago

While that may have been more appropriate from the start, you can't change something like this at this point in the series.

Unless you're Hideo Kojima...but that didn't work out too well...

OB1Biker2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

Is there a difference? I'm sure most people have no idea and don't care.

Jayszen2883d ago

@S-Word

Kratos voiced by a black or non-white actor bothers you? You actually worry about HOW he sounds. Ruins your enjoyment does it?

I really loved the story of GoW, and Ghost of Sparta. I also think Chains of Olympus had some good moments, character wise. The GoW Ascension live action trailer actually got to me, because I think I actually have something of an emotional connection with Kratos. Not going to pretend that GoW 2/3/Ascension didn't feel shallow as far as characters go.
Straight up, this Kratos we are now seeing IS the Kratos I always hoped to see, and always felt was there under the surface. Seeing what I saw at E3 means that he was able to find some sort of peace, which is what I always wanted for him as a character, especially with the opening/ending of GoW 1 (him trying to kill himself, and being "saved"). Seeing him have some semblance of a life makes me really happy, and I'm really looking forward to seeing this chapter unfold.

Darkfist2883d ago

Thats not what i wanted, dont like Axe weapons, i want my blades of chaos back NOW, or at least give us a pair of chained axe weapon :(

Yui_Suzumiya2883d ago (Edited 2883d ago )

I'm sure there will be an assortment like with all the games :3

Is Sony's Adaptive Difficulty A Good Idea?

Sony has been reported to be considering adding adaptive difficulty to all of its games. This feature would likely allow gamers to play more difficult games that usually have a skilled player barrier and also make it so hardcore gamers can get a good experience out of typically easier games.

I don't see an issue. I'm also sure it'd be an option that you could turn off to.

jambola124d ago

If optional yes
if not, awful idea

ApocalypseShadow124d ago (Edited 124d ago )

It should be optional but it would be more interesting to see gamers play more advanced AI. It's been a request since the beginning that NPCs and bots were more intelligent and tougher and not be stupid cannon fodder. This AI I'm guessing will adapt to the player. Which is cool. If the gamer sucks, the AI will suck. If the gamer is a bad ass, the AI will kick some ass and take names.

Based on GT7 Sophy, AI will definitely give gamers a run for their money.

jambola124d ago

sure
but I also don't ever want a case of playing a game I want to be hard, but then it get's easier because I die too much and removes that option
if it's 100% optional, I'm all for it
even ai adapting I'm not against
just any crap like, "you died too much so boss will suck to let you win easier" crap

Noskypeno124d ago

Yeah like everyone said, it should be optional. Sometimes I like to relax from the competitive mp and play a single player that's challenging but in a predictable way. I'll probably use it at times but sometimes I just want to have a soldier yell grenade 5 seconds before he throws it at you in perfect English.

ZeekQuattro124d ago

I don't have a problem with it. A number of games do this already depending on your playstyle.

porkChop124d ago

If you can turn it off? Sure. If it's forced, no it's a terrible idea. Imagine wanting a tougher experience but because you die a few times the game lowers the difficulty. That kind of defeats the purpose of the harder difficulty.
