When you think cRPG's you probably think of the classics like Baulder's Gate or Icewind Dale. Perhaps you think of newer cRPG's like Pillars of Eternity or Divinity: Original Sin.
However there are a whole world of classic style RPG's out there that you may have not heard of. Here are 5 you should check out.
"Today, we had an opportunity to do a Q and A interview with the developer of "Underrail", Dejan Radisic. So we talked about everything from game development, game design and his advice for new and up and coming developers." - Nenad Radunovic, TGG.
I've honestly never even heard of "Underrail" before, but the game looks rather good (nice interview btw!").
For many of you the story behind Balrum will sound all too familiar – An indie team set out to build an RPG, promising ye olde RPG experience all but forgotten today. However, unlike the dime a dozen RPG Maker clones so often seen on Steam Greenlight, the game isn’t merely cashing in on nostalgia; instead it’s a true love letter to the open world RPGs of yesteryear.
DSOGaming's Matt writes: "UnderRail is an isometric CRPG that throws us back to an era where RPGs had no spoken dialog and had very lengthy descriptions of the environment and the people and/or things that inhabit it. UnderRail may not have the graphics that one would expect from a games released at the same time, but this clearly intentional as to really provide a classic experience. This is easy to tell because the environments are incredibly detailed."
