E3 2016: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim HD Officially Announced

Hardcore Gamer: "Let’s face it, rumors have run amok this E3 with plenty of potential games being spoiled before they were even announced. While June 13 holds the biggest set of rumors, it’s unfortunately Bethesda who has had their lineup spoiled a week ago. Along with a slew of new games in their lineup comes a remaster of arguably the most highly regarded fantasy RPGs of the last generation: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."

This is the end for me. I loved Skyrim even when I was struggling and reloading saves on the janky PS4 version lol. If it isn't $60 it's mine

Aleithian2881d ago

I'm afraid I'll buy this regardless of the price. I'll be playing Skyrim till I die.

RufustheKing2881d ago

I'll wait a while for this. In no rush to play a buggy last generation game will volumatic lighting and new shades and most likey full price as well. I love elder scrolls and fallout but the bugs grind the fun out of it after awhile

joab7772881d ago

I would if it released like next month. 10/28 is a terrible time with T2, B1, and everything else from FF15 to D2. No way with work and school. But I am happy for anyone who didn't play it.

Aleithian2881d ago

Well, my baby's due 10/23, so even if I get it on Day 1, I won't be playing it for awhile. :P

Kidmyst2880d ago

@Aleithian congrats ahead on the new baby!

DrJones2880d ago

You mean the PS3 version. How could you misspell that?

cash_longfellow2880d ago

$60 seems fine to me...I never played it on ps3.

This is simply awesome news! I loved Skyrim all those years ago and I am itching to play it after watching that trailer. Bethesda has had a solid E3 showing so far!

FlameBaitGod2881d ago

Some people really don't like Skyrim lol, disliking every comment lol

Rachel_Alucard2881d ago

Yeah because its as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle

nX2881d ago (Edited 2881d ago )

I think 90% of gamers liked it when it released 6 years ago, but that doesn't mean they like it remastered already. I would get much more excited for a Morrowind remake.

Lazyeye792881d ago

I'm excited to play it again as well. I just hope they cut down the loading.

babadivad2881d ago

When I found out there was no custom spells or armor I didn't play it. It sounded like it was too dumbed down from Oblivion.

mark_parch2880d ago

all those years ago it lol. it feels very recent to me which is why I will probably give it a miss. its an outstanding game but there's to many new games coming out this year which I'm more excited about

actually looks amazing, seems like bethesda have actually put in a lot of work. i think for console gamers this is the one and only way to play skyrim

this is how you are suppose to host a game conference, talk about nothing but games. bethesda is growing fast and is becoming one of the top publishers in gaming

especially the fact they love making single player games and aren't rushing after MP only or adding needless MP to every game

i love how there are stealth trolls clicking disagrees

Erik73572881d ago

To be honest if you play skyrim modded on pc you can make it look better than this....yea I know your mind is blown right now.

SavageFlamingo2881d ago

Not everybody plays on PC. I personally do, but I can see the merit in the visual upgrades for console gamers. A lot of people don't like spending a lot of money just to have "the best of the best"

gigoran2880d ago

the only thing that blew my mind was your assumption that your pc revelation would blow it. disappointed?now I blew your mind

DanteVFenris6662880d ago

Ehhh that's depadable. If what they showed is actually how they look and the character models look better too then no.

Most "graphical mods" are just people who claim there increasing the graphics but all they are doing is tweaking a few settings and adding new objects around the world artistically so it looks better. Like more trees and the like

jznrpg2880d ago

I have a gaming PC but sometimes I rather play the console version or both

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast27d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22927d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko27d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave27d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan27d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
