Short Pause Reacts: EA Play 2016 Event

Short Pause: "Ben, Brent, Frankie, and Bender weigh in on the EA 2016 Play Event. While Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 didn't fail to impress, the fellas feel that the Mass Effect Andromeda and Star War sections were a little strange."

I enjoyed the show overall, but I can't help feel that it didn't live up it's potential. BF1 and TF2 reveals were great, the sports stuff was there for those who live and breath it. It's just the Star Wars bit and Mass Effect bit felt like they deserved better than a behind-the-scenes look, especially Mass Effect considering that's much further along. Overall, good show, but could've been much better.

As a huge Mass Effect fan, while I agree a fully cinematic trailer would've killed the whole show, I was still pumped to see what we saw, hear a little bit about what the story will be about, and getting a glimpse at our protagonist. Granted, I'm bias towards Mass Effect, but I was really happy about what we saw.

I found it extremely underwhelming. I swear most of the show was sports, cringey interviews/moments and dragged on introductions to their games. No gameplay demos or surprise announcements (besides Fe) was at their show. I expected at least short demos from all their big games especially Mass Effect (save for BF1 MP which was expected).

Same here...I'm still not sure why it even existed. What little was there could've been shown at Sony or MS or PC events. It was an hour long show with maybe 10 minutes of worthwhile content at a stretch.

Been watching E3 a long time, wasn't expecting anything huge from EA but that was easily one of the most underwhelming conferences I've seen in E3 history. Really hoping this show doesn't set the pace for E3 2016. So far we most likely know Bethesda's entire conference but it'll be cool to see that stuff in motion, so it'll easily best EA...we've seen so many leaks from MS' show I can't imagine many surprises there, but again at least we will finally get to see a lot of games in motion....Nintendo is entirely about Zelda so that'll be fun...really Sony's show is the only one left with any potential for surprises, so most of E3 is hinging on Sony this year for me...

Yeah I got excited when I realized an E3 showcase was about to start, but I ended up turning it off out of boredom, going back to it because I felt I might miss something good, and then turning it off again. That guy talking about the FIFA story mode was especially cringe inducing for me.

Crossplay Will Be In College Football 25 But Not In Online Dynasty Mode

EA Sports dropped their first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 today and the game looks truly amazing. Buried in the details of the game hype, however, is a significant letdown for those who play online dynasty (a significant portion of the userbase).

Sounds interesting I'll be interested in the second remake of re1

Cacabunga1d ago

They game cube remake was mind blowing.. another remake would be nice but i was really hoping for Code Veronica first

-Foxtrot23h ago

If it's true they are probably leading up to RE5 with the Chris vs Wesker story

RE1, CV and then RE5

Terry_B22h ago

Their REmake is still one of the best 3 video game remakes ever made.

Cacabunga21h ago

Terry

Zero was not a remake but an amazing game as well. I hope they remake that one one day with some coop play.. great great game

maelstromb17h ago

The whole Lisa Trevor side-story was an incredible addition and really fleshed out more of the lore. It could have easily felt tacked on to artificially extend the length of the game, but it felt 'right' like it should have been in there from the beginning. I'm hoping they include that in the Re-remake.

Yui_Suzumiya4h ago

Code Veronica definitely needs it the most!

Cant wait until they cut the basement section and replace it with something worse.

Becuzisaid1d ago

While I want another modern remake of 1, I think code Veronica should be first. The first re1 remake holds up amazingly well. Give CV it's due.

As long as the Crimson Heads are back.

Nerdmaster11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

I hope they don't. They were created mainly to justify Wesker not really dying, and they do create more tension, but they don't make much sense.
Re-reviving things that were twice dead? Why would the virus stop there and not keep reviving them forever (until the head gets destroyed)?
And also the characters knowing that destroying their heads keep them from becoming crimson heads, while having a combat knife and lots of heavy objects around to do it while they're down, but having to rely on lucky shots or burning them with oil?
They can create other stuff that serves the same purpose of creating tension but that makes more sense.

This looks pretty good. RIGZ made me queasy but I've got better VR legs now (I think).
