PlayStation LifeStyle - Operation Fallen Star Review

Up until now, Warhawk had gone through two well-recieved expansions. Both Broken Mirror and Omega Dawn added new features and much replayability to the game, with added maps and layouts, as well as vehicles and weapons. The title has also seen several patches, with the most recent one adding trophy support, two new modes (hero and collection), and in-game custom soundtracks.

That's all fine and dandy but none of it amounts to what we just received...Operation Fallen Star.

Edit: LOL, an expansion received 9/10 (8.9 Meta) while a 10 years game Too Human received flop/10

Edit2: Disgeae3 (a SRPG) managed to out-score all of the other JRPGS released by Crapbox360 this year...hmmm...

The Crater kicks @ss. Not as much as the Omage factory, but it's still better than most of the maps in the game. The real treat, of course, is the jetpacks.

Remember when we were all going on about how awesome parachutes would be? Psssh. They did us one better with Fallen Star. Jet packs breathe new life into the game. Everyone go get this now. Or if you're lucky like me, maybe some kind soul will share it with you over PSN.

I just got the game last week and its increbible but after I got the booster combo it got even better. The jetpacks add so much more depth to the gameplay and they work surprisingly well. I'm loving the dropships, haven't messed around with the APC's yet. Next I would like to see Incognito release a map pack that incorporates the dropships, APC's and jetpacks simultaneously.

...are fantastic but this game just is not for me.

I tried to get into it and I really wanted to like it after paying for the latest map pack however, with too few people playing in this part of the world and even fewer new comers (like me) to play against its just not fun. Well, if you consider fun being shot down 15 times in the space of about 4 mins without even landing a single kill then I guess its fun. But I for one hate ending up in games where everyone is a seasoned Warhawk player...all you end up being is cannon fodder. Especially if the only games available to join result in you having ping rates of 400+.

Sorry all you Warhawk lovers but this one won't get any more airtime from me...I think I'll leave it up to those that are good at it. I know there are new training levels but they do little to prepare you for playing against those that have been playing it for the past 12 months.

Bailing out of a damaged warhawk and taking a dude out with a rocket launcher in mid air is pretty friggin sweet. I'm glad I broke down and paid for the extra content...well worth it!

I grabbed a jetpack and rockets. I got up in a Warhawk and try to take down some other warhawks. Of course, I get messed up, but right before my plane blows up, I bail out. As I am falling, I take out my rocket launcher(not yet engaging the jet pack) lock on the the plane that almost blew me up, shoot the rocket, kill him, then do an upward blast with my jetpack just in time to save me from splashing into the water.

This is an awesome expansion. Jetpacks are freaking fun. The map is beautiful. I just hate that tower in the middle. It seems to attract lots of snipers.
