I don't see this getting a pass from Disney.

A free Star Wars game that is a direct competitor of Star Wars Battlefront which is still being supported with a sequel on the way. Yeah...definitely going to get shut down unfortunately.

That is not true, The free WOW servers just got shutdown and it was free yet it was still shutdown

I'm not entirely sure how it works but WoW servers got shutdown because they're using exact WoW assets. Renegade X is a remake of C&C Renegade and EA has had no issues with it since it's free.

@sashimi Not necessarily the same situation. Disney is letting the kotor remake happen. the thing with WoW is that you are paying to play the game that blizzard themselves have made. Not only is the base game the same but, they have decided to charge to actually play the game monthly. Its much easier to see why a wow free server would get shutdown. Essentially disney would have to argue that this is different than kotor remake or shutdown both.

I can't find any information about where these people are located. So I'm going to assume they're located in Russia. And that means Disney is going to have a difficult time doing anything to them.

I doubt Valve actually "agreed" to publish it. The greenlight program allows almost any game through nowadays.

Before it is released Disney has no reason to shut it down.
When, if ever, it is released (from what I read original Battlefront 3 was shut down because it was never finished - only needed a couple of months more for years...) the letter will come immediately.

At time of release it will be interesting to compare with EA/DICE Battlefront.

These guys doing the 'remake' are obviously dedicated and are remaking Free Radicals version of BF3 (the one that got cancelled). I think they would take content from battlefront 2 for their version just to increase the content and game modes. Whatever happens I am looking forward to the release and downloading asap until the likelihood of Disney forcing the game off Steam.

Content wise the cancelled game already looks better. Same with gameplay. Sound both are similar. The only thing DIce has on even the 10 year old game is graphical quality.

Are you kidding? The multiple classes. The multiple teams ranging from CLones to Empire, to Rebels to CIS. There were also native classes like Gungans you can play as. They showcase several levels that allow you to ceamlessly go from the battlefield into space. They showcased a full single player campaign. They showcased multiple heroes. And that's off the top of my head. I can go and look at all the leaked videos of the cancelled game and point out bit by bit what it has OVER EA: Battlefront.

Meanwhile in Battlefront you get to play on some cramped maps doing nothing. All Battlefront has for it is graphical quality. But that means shit when your game is terrible.

Content, you have seen very little of FW Battlefront 3 - how can you judge? Compare at time of release (with EA Battlefront free upgrades). FW will need to update content and models to resemble a modern game, doing that will take a lot of time (just taking the models and textures will open another law suite, from Crytek), game modes will be even worse (rewrite from scratch, unless they have access to source code...)

Could you explain why you think FW Battlefront 3 has better gameplay - I do not see it.
