And of course, why would i expect the video to even be in the article?

madworld2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

Mafia franchise was a serious, grounded, immersive, detailed and moderately realistic experience, using huge attention to detail in its gameplay and story to bring a strong, powerful, emotional experience.Mafia 3 lacks any of that. With it's eagle-visions, car torpedos,over-the-top butchering neck-knifing animations (which look cheap and 8-years-dated), BS. arcade driving where every turn you take is a drift, stupid over-the-top shooting with stupid over-the-top shooting with grenade-launchers, were Lincoln brutally butchers someone..with gore, pain and screams while the guys 5 meters away hear nothing There's a button for ramming smith with you that is my Deduction from all videos I saw.So Please guys the game needs Mafia's atmosphere and a lot more details In Graphics,Animations,Driving and please remove those icones that always appear like electric icones it's so stupid....

BossBattle2905d ago

I'm definitely buying 2 copies of this game day one

Golden_Mud2905d ago

ok, that is an epic response, gotta give it to ya but no bubble system so yah...

objdadon2905d ago

You're by yourself on that bs

S-Word2905d ago

That's a few of the reasons why I'll be skipping this game entirely. This isn't a Mafia game so I don't know why they would use the title (aside from trying to use the name to sell copies to casuals). I think the Mafia games are dead at this point though. I don't expect to see them make anymore real ones.

How are you going to turn an epic tale of the mafia into a blacklivesmatter vigilante quest? What's up with millennials wanting to relive the 60s? News flash dummies, the 60s were fucking terrible. Stop picking old scabs.

TwoForce2905d ago

Seriously, why do you hate it ? I really like this 60s setting.

opinionated2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

The music was the only thing good about the 60s. The only reason they chose a black protagonist in the 60s is so they could let the cops release the dogs on black folk. Spray them with fire hoses for no reason. The blacklivesmatter shit is trying to relive the 60s. It's moronic cultural rot.

If they wanted to do something with the black mafia it should have been in Harlem in the roaring 20s. They don't want a good mafia game though, they just want to stroke the flames.

TwoForce2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

How ? Even 1960s, there was lot of racism in that time. Seriously, white people treated black people like shit. Even in 18th, 19th , 20th and 21st centuries, white people never treat them fairly. But it was also the day, black people can treat equal with white people. Back in 20th century, most African people worked in America mostly waiter, cleanner and household keeper. And now, they do anything what they dream of. And one more thing, in 60s there was a dark history between black and white people.

opinionated2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

That's the whole point. That's the only reason they chose the setting and protagonist. Controversy and appeasing SJW morons. There is a HUGE difference between the mafia and ignorant gang bangers. This is no different than saints row.

In the Italian mafia you weren't getting made unless you were 100% Sicilian. Same with black, Russian, Armenian or whatever mafia. There is organized crime families and then there are worthless thugs who kill each other over pennies and colors. Lincoln's rainbow squad of diversity isn't the mafia. You are a thug who kills the mafia. It's such a dumb premise and a waste of the franchise IMO.

TwoForce2905d ago

Or I could say that his family was mafia once and backstab by betrayal. I have no problem with the game, the only problem i have is the story and how they going to nail it.

Deathdeliverer2905d ago

@stonewall
So if a game comes out and stars a black character against strife it has something to do with black lives matter? The tons of games that have had killing nazis, and Asians are ok. Mafia has a black fellows perspective in their video game world in the 60's and it's a 2000's black lives matter problem. The new battlefield has the Harlem hell fighters DLC and those guys just got recognition for their deeds after being given away to another country just to comeback penniless and in some cases die on the street. Guess that's some black lives matter, SJW stuff right there. You're bringing up "old scabs" others just want to play the damn game. Realistic or not. Play the damn game or don't.

opinionated2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

In a mafia game? That time period? No question. Blacklivesmatter is the target audience.

I don't want to fight the nazis or mafia. I want to be the mafia. Italian, black or otherwise. Yakuza I don't care. I think there is enough real history to make that series stand out.

A broken Vietnam vet getting harassed by the police? Make a beast ass Rambo game. Put Lincoln in some backwoods hillbilly town and make a new ip. I will probably buy it anyway lol.

Edit:
WW1 is an unusual choice but I like it. I think serious games should get real history. Blacks were American military way before that. Happy Memorial Day weekend.

TwoForce2905d ago (Edited 2905d ago )

Oh my god ! If you keep focus those SJW nonsense, then you going to have alot of headache like no shit. I have a lot of headaches since this happened and i have to sleep. Seriously, I advise you need to play some games to calm you down or go outside. Just play the goddamn game if you like it or not.

Edit : One last thing, don't drink too much salty water. Ugh. You are so cringeworthy.

opinionated2905d ago

Lmao Don't ask if you don't want an answer yo.. The game isn't out yet or else I would. I will buy it just to see if I was right lol. That its not a mafia game. Viet vet black and Vito the rat could be fun in its own way. We'll see.

Two of my all time favourite franchises releasing a couple of months apart of each other. The other one of course being Deus Ex. :)

EazyC2905d ago

For me, the problem isn't the era per se, but the character. I still really wish I was playing as some Costa Nostra Italian greaseball like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.

mafiahajeri2905d ago

Hey Ray was half guinea half mic xD just watched good fellas 2 days ago, also my setiments exactly mafia has always been about the mob.

They should have released this as dlc or something.

Agreed....game was fantastic. Especially as a person of color, I enjoyed the side missions.

Kakashi Hatake665d ago

I'm Black myself, which is different from Lincoln who is bi racial. (It's trendy to ignore that mixed people are half White for some reason) What would color have to do with enjoying a game like this? Imagine if people playing God of War were like "Gee, I'm enjoying playing as a White person right now". If we want others to relate to things other than skin color, we have to start setting an example as "People of Color" (That term is so stupid btw)

InklingGirl665d ago

I wonder if this comment will get removed like mine? It shouldn't but I'm just curious.

LucasRuinedChildhood665d ago (Edited 665d ago )

"What would color have to do with enjoying a game like this?"

Skin colour matters a lot in the story and setting of Mafia 3. It even affects the gameplay.

The comparison to God Of War doesn't make sense.

I'm Irish (as in, a person born in Ireland), and I'd probably enjoy a game where you can fight in the Irish War of Independence ... a bit more than the average Brit. lol. Who cares? If a British person "Imagine if ...", I'd just laugh.

LucasRuinedChildhood665d ago (Edited 665d ago )

*said "Imagine if ..."

Also, it is cool when you play an Irish character in a game who doesn't put on a leprechaun accent like Tom Cruise did. "Shannon! Tell me you like my hat!" https://youtu.be/eKrEVWGTuR...

Terry_B666d ago

nah..its mediocre and repetitive.

Demetrius666d ago (Edited 666d ago )

I played it once and it was very frustrating compared to mafia 2 I like to enjoy games not get raged all up 😂😂

XbladeTeddy665d ago

It was repetitive and boring. Not a good game at all.

Yi-Long666d ago

The game looked interesting, and from the trailers it seemed it had a great soundtrack, but the buggy release (AI) and disappointing reviews made me pass on it. No idea if they ever fixed its shortcomings post-launch.

XbladeTeddy665d ago

They could only polish a turd so much. Wasn't good at release and isn't good now.

MadLad666d ago

Weakest game in the series.

AuraAbjure665d ago

People said that about Wolfenstein:Youngblood. I played youngblood and it is a masterpiece and so awesome and entertaining and badass, with ray tracing too. Is Mafia 3 a great game on its own merit? I understand compared to the other Mafias, you feel it's weak.

MadLad663d ago

I respectfully disagree.

GTA V, Mafia, and Red Dead Redemption 2 VR mods are dead – and Take 2 Interactive killed them

From VG247: "If you’ve been enjoying either Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, or Mafia: The Definitive Edition in VR thanks to some handy fan-made mods, we’ve got some bad news. Thanks to a DMCA claim by Take Two Interactive - the parent company of Rockstar Games and 2K - has led development on the most popular VR mods to grind to a halt.

This news comes via Luke Ross - the sole creator of a variety of VR mods for the aforementioned games - who released a lengthy post to his supporters. In it, he claims to have received a DMCA request from Take Two Interactive for his projects and that the company requested that he “remove all their copyrighted works from [his] Patreon page”. This was confirmed by Kotaku who reached out to Patreon directly."

Orbilator668d ago

Get the mods on a torrent site and tell the world were they are.

Duke19668d ago

I mean, if he was modding a game that someone else built, and charging for it on patreon - this seems pretty cut and dry for a DMCA.

If he was not profiting from it in any way though, would be nice to let companies let this shit slide more often

KeenGamer: "Mafia 3 has a huge cast of characters - good, bad, and both - but these 10 characters were the ones who stood out the most. With Mafia 3 set in the 1960's, these characters are influenced by the ever-changing times and the people surrounding them."
