The Magic Circle is a slyly satirical look at the gaming industry, a subversive meta-commentary on the development process and the bureaucratic and creative wrangling than occur behind the scenes. Most importantly of all, however, is that it’s a damn fun gaming experience.
NelMaNo writes for P&L:"It provides a thought provoking and dark satirical insight into the games industry that makes you wonder just how much of it is fiction and how much is based on the developers own experiences."
Gareth writes "When does a game know it’s a game? When and why do we want to peek behind the curtain and see the wheels turning? There must be a game you’ve played in the past that suddenly breaks, with the code and the world collapsing around you. The PC version of the recent Batman Arkham Knight game is famous for it, or I could talk about the Assassins Creed Unity skinless face and bulging eyeballs incident."
