Star Wars Battlefront Campaign Skipped to Meet Movie Release

Star Wars Battlefront was widely criticized for being a full price game that lacked the content of modern day first person shooters. The absence of a single player campaign was one major issue. But fans and critics also took runs at the lack of multiplayer game modes, playable characters, and weapons, all seemingly locked behind an expensive season pass.

EA’s decision to cut the campaign to meet the release window of Star Wars: The Force Awakens demonstrates the power of the brand. Those who played last years Star Wars: Battlefront know that the game’s setting took place during the original trilogy that began in 1977. There isn’t any narrative or environmental similarities between the game and film.

Regardless of skipping SP, the MP was lacking in so many ways.

Graphics were sweet, sounds were good. But combat weapons overpowered.

Not enough maps etc.

I paid full 80 bucks for the game at launch because I loved the beta so much, totally underwhelmed at launch and my friends didn't play more than 2-3 weeks. Dropped it hard and fast. biggest regret of 2016 so far.

Even with the campaign, 100 maps at launch, the mechanics of the mp is still flawed in design, or lack of design. What about getting into vehicles manually, taking down star destroyers through team-based effort by invading the inside or destroying the outside, instead of them doing nothing in the background. Or flying a y-wing out a hanger, flying from surface to space. Where is the iconic death star map, and cloud city?
