Some things are worth waiting for.
For several years now, particularly since the next-generation consoles have come online, the sport of basketball has been given every kind of shooting dynamic, camera angle, and player animation that developers could think of. Yes, there have been some very good titles, but nothing that GameZone would classify as a great game.
That may be about to change. Recently GameZone got its hands on a preview build of NBA 09: The Inside from SCEA's San Diego Studios. Remember, this was a preview build (the game is not set to release until October) so there were a few hiccups, but that's not the point of this article. Hiccups happen in beta builds. Get past those and you will see that what is being dropped into the game is impressive.

Would Crispy Gamer play this game for more than an hour? No.
Why? They don't have the head for technically sound, five-person basketball. They would rather just push people over and put up massive dunks.
With a token nod to the role-playing as athlete mode most sports titles are including these days, The Inside's version, "The Life," is shallow and lifeless and, thus, not worth living through.
But if fast goofy fun is all you want from your basketball game, that's great. But you certainly shouldn't be expected to pay the same sixty bucks the top NBA games command.
4 out of 5 ....the biggest sony supporter me would have to give this game a 2 . ... I bought it i buy all sony exclusive ...this game sucks....go with nba2k.....spend $120 on basketballs game.
oh man i am REALLY looking forward to this. NBA 08 was the best basketball game last year in my opinion and 09:The Inside is really sounding like a must buy for any basketball game fan.
