Darth Malak was a Human male born on Quelii who took the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith during the Jedi Civil War. Born Alek Squinquargesimus and nicknamed Squint, he was—prior to becoming a Sith Lord—a famed Jedi Knight and military commander. Squinquargesimus befriended the Jedi Padawan Zayne Carrick and, after taking the name “Malak,” assisted him in defeating the Jedi Covenant. During the Mandalorian Wars, Malak gained a reputation as a headstrong warrior who would recklessly charge into danger. He eventually drew closer and closer to the dark side, ultimately being seduced by Sith teachings imparted to him by his closest friend and fellow Jedi Knight Revan. After the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars at the Sith planet of Malachor V, the two twisted the allegiance of the Revanchists and the Republic forces under their command, building the foundations of what would eventually become a new Sith Empire.

Seriously, there's a whole wide universe out there. Why are there so few RPGs that focus on space travel and alien planets?
I'd like to see Paramount invest in video game development, because I can totally see a Star Trek game being great.
Getting to explore the universe in a RPG Star Trek game that takes inspiration from Mass Effect and the Outer Worlds for it's RPG mechanics has huge potential.
As for the exploration part of the game having it take inspiration from No Man's Sky, the Outer Wilds and Freelancer would be great.
I'll agree to this. New RPG stories set in space.
Course, Phantasy Star back then had futuristic weapons and space travel. I still want PS5. Well...both PS5s. Lol. But I'm talking about a sequel to the series and not the console. PS Online is fine. But I want the old series gameplay back. Loved traveling to the other planets. Was very innovative back then. Created a sense of wonder and exploration.
Well, we do have the perfect foundation for a space RPG: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
IMO, we need more good RPGs. I couldn't care less if they set in space, under the sea, in future, current times or in medieval times, or in prehistoric even.
I would take Mass Effect-like game set in Ancient Greece over another Dragon Age II. Or Dragon Age: Origins-like set in current time over Deus Ex: Invisible War and so on.
If you are anything like me, a lot of what you do for work, for fun, and for staying in touch with friends depends on the great and mighty World Wide Web. So, imagine what would happen if the gang of neighborhood cats chewed through the power cords, cutting off your electricity. Or the alien hackers from outer space sent a destructive virus that crumbles the infrastructure of the internet in a matter of seconds. Devastating disasters like this could come in more mundane forms as well. Maybe your parents turn off your service or you are going on a trip to a remote, Wi-Fi-less destination.
Loved KOTOR. Malak was awesome.
Incredibly in-depth and an enticing read. Great article.
