‘Ratchet & Clank’ holds on to No1 in the All Formats Chart for a second week - UK

‘Ratchet & Clank’ (-49%) holds on to No1 in the All Formats Chart for a second week.

The last Sony title to do this was ‘The Last of Us: Remastered’ back in W32 2014. ‘Ratchet & Clank’ is also the 7th biggest Sony first-party PS4 launch and gives Sony PS4 exclusive titles a total of 8 weeks at No1 compared to Microsoft’s 5 weeks for Xbox One first-party exclusive titles.

PS4 retailer hardware bundling alongside the recent launch of ‘Eclipse’ the first new DLC, help propel ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ (+82%) up five places to No2, its highest chart position since it topped the chart back in week 7.

Obviously it's a great game based on the general critic and user reception but I think price also has a lot to do with the high sales numbers. The standard £50 releases are just too expensive. Great to see cheaper experiences being explored.

Planet Pokitaru, go to where the Green Amiboibs (or however it is spelt) in that underground water tower, and farm off of those guys. Easy to rack up Raritanium and cards.

Rayman Legends is FAR better than Origins. Legends was the best platformer since Ratchet Up Your Arsenal imo.

As much as I would love a Jak 4 I feel that Jak 3 wrapped things up nicely. Maybe a re-imaging like Insomniac has done with Ratchet and Clank.

But... There's already a rayman 3 and its called Rayman 3, unless you mean a sequel to the newer rayman games. A new 3d rayman would be awesome, and I need a Jak sequel even though we'll never get it, and a new Spyro game. I never really got into sly cooper except with the demo that came with up your arsenal.

I think Sony was testing the waters and checking if there is still room for this genre thats why it was a remake and not a full on new game. Incoming Crash Bandicoot announcement for the PS4 and dont be surprised to see something on J&D and Sly Cooper.

I'm not sure that's entirely why because you have to understand a remake is still taking the same exact resources in time and development that a brand new game would still take considering they're still making new assets and designs and gameplay mechanics etc.

I think Sony okayed a remake because Ratchet & Clank has a history of being a big seller for them I don't think it speaks specifically to just the genre as much as the IP itself. I think if Sony was ever going to make a Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game or anything of that sort I don't really believe Ratchet & Clank numbers would make them do it or not.

Though people many times love saying that, that didn't make a Jak and Daxter game appear last generation. One can't just merely assume that Ratchet & Clank doing well means that other Platformers by default would also do well because I know people who are fans of Ratchet & Clank that didn't care for Jak and Daxter or fans of Sly Cooper that don't like Ratchet and Clank. sometimes individual ips are more successful and that everyone isn't just buying a game simply because it is a platformer as even platformer fans still have their personal favorites.

Currently playing this, and i'm loving it so far. It's a real technical showpiece and a game to show off to your friends as they marvel at the sheer bewildering amount of whiz-bang action all on the screen at the same time. It's tremendous fun and is beautiful to look at.

For me, it's my favourite PS4 game to date, until a certain adventurer will no doubt steal that crown next week.

The movie was aimed at kids, and kids don't care for reviews just like how they don't care for reviews for a game either. Most likely, they loved the movie and wanted to play the game. Besides, the movie is as bad as any video game movie tends to be.

When I found it that this game was sold out at all my GameStops, and I had to order it online to get it. I knew right then & there that this game would sell well.

Platinumed this game the other day. Took 3 playthroughs to cover everything, and it sure was a heck of a lot of fun each and every run! (aside from that 1:35 race one, my goodness that was so unbelievably rage inducing).

But wow, if this game is breaking records, U4 sales are going to be insanely epic. R&C is a niche title after all, and while I think everybody with a PS4 should buy and play it, quite a few gamers just don't consider it something they would be interested in. So just imagine U4, where there is a good chance that 80-90% of all PS4 owners will buy on day 1 or shortly thereafter. It is going to be breaking records like no other record has been broken before.

I myself found the races super easy and I hate race games I got the trophies for both races without even knowing they were needed on my first tries, the trophy I had trouble with was the death by disco one it took me 4 playthroughs to get it to pop but fortunately I enjoyed playing it through it go.

It must have been glitched on my PS4, because I worked on that race literally for 6 freaking hours, I perfected every square inch of the track and even the smallest microscopic messup would cost the trophy for me. I had to be boosting nearly 100% of the time (couldn't go for more than 1 second without boosting, otherwise I wouldn't make the time), I cut every corner possible and took the absolute fastest way through the track possible. I was constantly getting 1:36 times, and quite a few in the 1:35. Sometimes I felt as if I did incredibly good (best run I had done), only to have the clock sit at 1:38 at the end of the race and be completely baffled as to how I got such a horrible time despite being my most flawless run. It was absolute BS.

In the end I managed to FINALLY get under 1:35, with 1:34:85 IIRC... I managed to get the trophy with only a few milliseconds between not getting it. As for the second race, that one was a breeze, I think I beat the trophy required time by 15-20 seconds on that one without really trying that hard (only took a few tries).
